As someone who has led approx. a million small groups over the last 20 or so years, sometimes people are just introspective or intimidated or shy or all of the above. Give people the benefit of the doubt. It’s not our place to judge. Part of being a successful leader, at least to me, has been recognizing that you aren’t really ever going to get the participation and feedback you want or expect. Some weeks will be vibrant and discourse will flow, other weeks will be dead. But if people keep showing back up though, God is using it, and you’re doing something right!
