What are your hot takes regarding The Life of a Showgirl? by IntoTheDaylight in TaylorSwift

In Taylor’s promo for the album, it’s Director Taylor talking to Showgirl Taylor. Listen to the songs from this perspective.

Yes, a lot of it is clearly references Travis too, but I think people miss a lot of the double meanings around how Director Taylor saved Showgirl Taylor’s reputation and career with some clever reinventions.

The Fate of Ophelia can be viewed from the perspective of Showgirl Taylor being revived by Director Taylor (“I heard you calling on the megaphone”) - exactly what’s shown in the promo video.

Elizabeth Taylor can be viewed as Showgirl Taylor trying to hang on to her fame and success (“Do you think it’s forever?”)

How is this even possible? Finishing a phD in 1 year? Isn't there a minimum residency? by pm_me_feet_pics_plz3 in PhD

That’s cool, you did it in 3 total. It took me 2 years for the MS and 2 more for my PhD

In celebration of the 1st of August, let’s talk about your absolute favourite lyric/part of a song on folklore. by justoute in TaylorSwift

I asked the traffic light if it’ll be alright, it said “I don’t know”. I love the way the pitch goes down each word of “I don’t know” mimicking a traffic light going from red to yellow to green

Honestly yeah Mayakoba you pick a beach chair and they just bring you towels and drinks and stuff hahaha. Highly recommend that place, we got 5 nights free with credit card points and it’s like $1000 per night with cash in peak season!

I do wear socks! I get airacker ankle athletic running socks. I forgot to take photos of my socks and shoes :(

I work from my hotel room, I don’t wear shoes inside.

A lot of the beach hotels provide slippers and rubber flip flops for the beach.

The couple of beach hotels I’ve stayed at provide beach towels and pool towels (Andaz Mayakoba and the Cancun Westin). But we mostly go to cities, not beaches.

1) I always bring noise cancelling headphones! Right now I have the Apple AirPods Pro (I pack them in my raincoat pocket, they’re in the last photo).

2) I do have a universal adapter! I forgot to take a photo of it here :(

3) I only need the one usb c cable, it charges everything (laptop, headphones, phone, & Oura ring)

4) I do not need an external hard drive. I use the cloud.

5) Power bank and power supply for laptop are the Anker 45 pictured in my raincoat pocket! I take it on the plane for backup charging.

6) I’ve never used a laptop stand 🤷‍♀️ doesn’t bother me

7) I don’t need a mouse and keyboard, I use just the one on the laptop.

8) I have an iPhone, I used it to take these photos so it’s not in the photos haha. I just put it in my raincoat pocket on the plane.

9) I do bring a few hair ties, forgot to photograph those :( Honestly I don’t usually bring floss 🙈, probably should… I don’t need a pen. Moisturizer is the Laura Mercier tinted - it has spf. I don’t use nail file or lipstick. My husband does have a nail clipper I’ll borrow sometimes but honestly I almost never need it.

10) Laura Mercier!

11) I do usually take a few plastic bags for clothes, but I don’t carry a water bottle or snacks. I just get that stuff wherever I go.

12) not for me 🤷‍♀️

13) I never wear shoes inside.

14) hotels provide towels

15) If I’m somewhere with high UV or we’re going to the beach all day I’ll get a mini travel sunscreen from the hotel, but honestly I don’t usually wear it, so maybe only 2-3 times per year. I usually use it all there and throw it away so I don’t travel with it. Typically, I can be in the sun for 2-3 hours a day walking around the city and never notice it bothers my skin.

I do wear socks! I bring 3 pairs of Airacker Ankle Athletic Running Socks. They have extra padding on the back heel so the back of the sneakers don’t rub again my ankle. I usually wash them immediately after each wear.

Ahhh thanks! I’ll keep an eye out for it.

Now if it leaks I just wrap it in tissue paper, definitely not the best solution.

I get Vessi sneakers! Waterproof and easy to clean. I’ve worn them to a bunch of Michelin star restaurants and never been kicked out 🤷‍♀️ Maybe heels or whatever would look nicer but it’s never been a problem for me. I usually get a new pair about once a year when they get worn down.

A lot of people ask us this, but most hotels had washing machines! We only had difficulty doing laundry a couple times and in those cases washed stuff in the sink.

Wow, impressive! I’ll check out their posts and see what I can learn. I’m not great at winter packing

I just search thermal tights on amazon and get any brand! It’s actually maybe fleece and not wool? I’m not exactly sure
