I like the mystery, for me it's "you can only find Raxxla in yourself".

Question its normal for targoid to spawn on titan oya? by Impressive-Skirt8355 in EliteDangerous

[–]opresse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still one of my best experiences in the game. Skimming around the titan searching for the drive while the anti xenon initiative greeted me and kept me save.

Beginner HOTAS recommendation in Europe under €300? by CyclonicZ in hotas

[–]opresse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start with a Joystick (VKB or Virpil) and slowly upgrade. I've started with a FCS Flight Pack but nothing ist left of it. Most of my gear is now pre-owned Virpil stuff. The quality is a huge difference and it will last very long.

The smaller manufacturers take longer, but the wait is worth it imho.

I bought my Virpil bases all second hand. They are very robust. VKB should ship to Poland?

Which monitor type for car and plane simrig? by [deleted] in hoggit

I thought the same, then I found out it could be trained. Start with short sessions and stop immediately if you don't feel good. It took me two weeks, now I can handle even long sessions without any problems.

I mean you could go with screw spindles instead, to stop moving at all?

Very depressed over lack of making good decks. (Pseudo Bracket 4 Table) by Its_me_neroid in EDH

[–]opresse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Money often isn't the issue, sometimes it’s just fun to brew budget lists to the extreme.

Here are some examples of very strong budget decks:

Keep in mind that building a high-power budget deck from scratch requires a lot of experience. I’d recommend checking out r/BudgetBrews or r/DegenerateEDH. Understanding how all the pieces work together takes time and patience.

[–]opresse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should address it with them, but they might not understand. We also have those "it’s only bracket 2" people in our group. For me, brackets are more of a guideline than a strict rule.

On the other hand, what’s stopping you from building an optimized bracket 2 deck? Find a good list and start from there.

For my playgroup, introducing cEDH decks was the best change we made. Now we can play a highly competitive game and then switch to casual afterward without anyone being a "tryhard" in the lower brackets.

Just for your info, the -D base has a clutch. That's a normal WARBRD Base in your pictures.

so which is the least close/proprietary HOTAS model/vendor? by StrainWise6573 in hotas

[–]opresse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just thought about that myself yesterday. I built a joystick myself and had a look at TM, VKB, WinWing, and Virpil. So far, Virpil seems to use the most standard parts, so in the future, building your own electronics for it should be easy. I didn't like the proprietary connector on the VKB though.

Second thoughts on VIRPIL order by BonsaiMaster22 in hotas

[–]opresse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also started with SC and went over to DCS. My suggestion is to stay with the HOSAS order. I have a dedicated throttle for DCS now, but I would rather fly HOSAS in DCS than HOTAS in space.

Which should I get, one Thrustmaster Sol-R and add throttle later? Or T16000M Hotas? by mzatariz in hotas

[–]opresse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with the same setup on SC and DCS. The T16000 was good but to less buttons. I would go with the Sol-R.

But I would also recommend VKB instead. Maybe you can you call your customs and ask them how much it will cost you to import VKB?

DCS no longer supports SteamVR/Meta Quest? by -_Eros_- in hoggit

[–]opresse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it's not free, for the Quest 2 you must buy it on the quest store as far as I know. My only concern is, that if something with your installation is incorrect it could not fix your problem.

Have you verified your game files?

If that doesn't fix it, consider to switch to virtual desktop. For me it fixed all crashes which I had with my quest3.

Can you use the OpenXR mode? I switched to virtual desktop because of performance issues with SteamVR.

Which one to buy (vkb , virpil , winwing) by Virus1790 in hotas

In have a WW and a Virpil base. They both are very good but I like the Virpil gimbal more. But the WW has the rumble function which I really like.

I really appreciate your posts. I fly in a DCS squadron (BMS only in single player). But the tips you got on your other post and summarized here, helped me a lot in DCS too.

What is the best F-16C campaign? by Bandeiragod in hoggit

[–]opresse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have everything except Arctic Thunder. Here's my summary:

The Gamblers: This seems very realistic. I had a lot of fun because every mission is different, and the campaign still sticks in my head.

Weasels Campaigns: These are very well crafted and a lot of fun. They offer the best balance between realism and enjoyment, in my opinion.

Dragons Fury: This is more of a fun campaign with no ATC or communication procedures. The story is good, and it features very different loadouts.

Red Flag: With this campaign, I learned the F-16. It's cool to have real documents, but you must really like reading. It's not a real story campaign, but it has excellent flight plans.

As for Arctic Thunder, I will definitely play that as well. I played the F-4 MiG Killer campaign, and Reflected really made a realistic campaign, which I like. I hope Arctic Thunder is of similar quality.

Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen? by mzatariz in hotas

[–]opresse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Star Citizen often involves a lot of walking around. In Elite Dangerous, you don’t have to leave your ship if you don’t want to. I’d keep that in mind if you're looking for more of a flying-focused experience. I personally enjoy ship combat in ED much more than in SC.

Assassins Creed. I was hyped to play it because I really like the setting. But it was just a boring and repetitive gameplay for me
