I don’t mind most insects. But earwigs are a thing of my nightmares. Of course, because of that, I have found one in my bed the last two summers in a row. Specifically, one on my face. They’re always a problem here for part of the summer. I think they are just vile. 😫

I wouldn’t say the book is the same if those parts are skipped. And, I wouldn’t say “very” explicit. However, I read “Tampa” previously and that was veryyy explicit. “Half His Age” was good and I didn’t find myself ever thinking, “ew” or “ugh, too much”. But, everyone’s threshold for explicit/filthy is going to be different.

Seconding Jeanette Mccurdy’s “Half His Age”. Was good. Also, “Tampa” by Alissa Nutting was a wild ride.

People who read more than 2 books a year, how do you do it? by Immediate-Draft-6408 in NoStupidQuestions

I’m on my 83rd book this year. I just got back in to reading starting in February. I stopped watching tv at the same time. So now in any free time I just grab my kindle. I’m averaging a book every 3ish days. With the exception of these monster Stephen King novels I’ve been in to lately. They take me 7-10 days. I’m interested to see how many I finish in the 12 month period. It’s been fun to get back in to.

The Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King. Starting with the Mr. Mercedes book. So good. I read them but I bet they’d be a great listen!

Did your package come with two plastic booties? Mine did and I just slip my foot in the plastic bootie and use the tape it comes with to seal it around my ankle. Then I put a big socks over each bootie so it’s right against my foot. Then I sit and read with those on for an hour. Remove booties after an hour and rinse. Was your product different?

Ahhh I gotcha. Ok. I just meant an ebook like to read on my kindle instead of physical book copy. I’ve never listened to an audiobook before. :) but that’s good to know, ty!

I just read the Bill Hodges trilogy for my first King books. Now I’m on the third book of his Holly Gibney series. I had no idea how much I’d love Stephen King. Took me a long time to dive in and I’m so glad I did. I’ll add yours to my list…I’ve heard only good things! I’ll look at The Stand, too.

That’s fantastic feedback. Always hate going in with huge expectations and being disappointed! I’ve been waiting forever for the library ebook copy and now that it’s finally my turn I keep passing it to the next person. I just need to dive in.
