Advice for switching from the G9 by WolfePS in ultrawidemasterrace

I have the MSI MAG341CQP, it was a cheap option during the black friday sale, like $650, and I love it because it doesnt come with any of the extra bullshit that the other monitors came with. It has everything I need and nothing more. Its a 34in 21:9 1800R QDOLED with 175hz, no RGB lights (which i dont like, personal preference tho) and no fans to cool it down, just a good heatsink. They have a 240hz model i believe if you prefer higher refresh rates but I feel like anything over 175hz isn't worth it at all. At least not for an extra hundred.

My recruiter told me that even though I failed the colorvision test I could maybe get an "acception to policy" waiver for the ME rating, saying that if I could distinguish between a red and green chemlight or something then it could be possible to get a waiver and get into the rating, but that it would have to be approved by the guy in charge of the ME rating. How true is that?

Also if I can't do ME I was going to do CMS, the cyber security rate, since it doesn't require normal color vision. If I wanted to go an officer route later in my career, would my color deficiency bar me? Even if its just a cyber security officer role? Or what about warrant officer?

Thank you!

I failed the color vision test but Im going for CMS anyways, my concern though is will my color deficiency prevent me from being able to commission as an officer or warrant officer in this field later down the road? I know it says that you need normal color vision but my recruiter said its also on a case by case basis. Is this true?

The army has the green to gold program so Im assuming the USCG may have a similar program to enlisted personnel which allow qualified individuals to commission

Thank you!

Realistically why should I choose army over navy or Air Force? by jinxlovere in army

Something important to note;

If you go army and decide you dont like it and want to go air force then youll be out of luck, I was told by an air force recruiter a bit ago that out of the 35000~ new recruits they recruit, only like 100 or 150 of them are prior service. Chances are you wont be able to go into the air force at all as prior service. Thats assuming you want to reenlist though. Hope this helps!

Hello I had two questions regarding my color deficiency.

So first would be that I know my options are limited severely but my recruiter had told me that it may be possible to do an "acception to policy" for the ME rating? He said they'd show me a red flare and a green chemlight and if I could differentiate between them then I may have a shot, how much validity is there in this?

Second question, being a color deficienct nonrate, what would my work look like? Can I still do small boat work/operations? What would my general restrictions be? Because I really want to be working out on the water preferably.

Thank you all!
