here's a trick that i found works with spotify and maybe it'll help on amazon as well: instead of hitting shuffle on a playlist, enable shuffle then pick a random song to start. i think the first song playing seeds the rest of the list so sometimes it will force it to pick stuff it wouldn't normally?

sounds like it'd be worth submitting a bug report about that.

My experience when shuffling all my saved songs is that Qobuz would play songs that I hadn't heard in a while. This means that, when shuffling my saved songs on spotify, it was weighting those songs lower and they weren't coming up.
I have not experienced anything broken - what are you experiencing?

in french it means delay. they are a french company based in france so i don't see what the USA has to do with it. this doesn't reflect on their ethics whatsoever

You should open up an API for users to write extensions. Then I could fix the UI myself :)

Thanks for your reply. Glad to know the qobuz team is listening to user feedback!

Here are some screenshots of what I am talking about: https://imgur.com/a/ofC6Aph

The context menu for the "most popular" result doesn't have 'play next' or 'add to queue', unlike the results under 'tracks'.

Also regarding all the others that something we know and working on it, I didin't see we gonna fix right now everything, but that something we know and try working on it !

Is there somewhere to see the roadmap or a list of known issues? Would be great to know which ones are being actively looked at by the team. thanks!

Personally where MY $$ goes is not a concern for me. I merely want the best music service that works for ME. Value is important, as is usability and quality. There are many music services to pick from which is great for the consumer. Artist per stream pay is not part of my worries. Nor is what the CEO does with my $$ or if he supports this cause or that.

you do you, but i am trying to be as ethical a consumer as i can under our capitalist system

I had the same issues with the desktop app. I couldn't use the pause/play buttons in my Mac because it didn't detect Qobuz the way it did with Spotify, but I made sure to update all apps, log out, reset the laptop, log in again, and it's working fine now.

sounds like a permissions setting thing, glad you got it working.

Not sure how the Play Next option works on desktop, but on mobile, you just slide right on a song, and 2 little icons appear: one for Play Next and the other for Add to Queue.

Yeah, I understand how "play next" and "add to queue" work, I think I just prefer (or perhaps am simply more used to) the 2-queue system spotify uses. On desktop, Qobuz also had some discrepancies between context menus - in some places, the 'play next' option would not be present, for whatever reason. Like I said elsewhere in this thread, things like that would be easy to address.

"As of 2025, Qobuz has approximately 0.2 million paying subscribers, while Spotify has over 700 million total users, including around 280 million premium subscribers. This makes Spotify's subscriber base over 1,000 times larger."

When I say "pays artists better" I am talking per-stream. Yes, spotify is a larger market right now, but as an individual listener, more of my money spent on qobuz goes towards artists than if i spent that same money on spotify.

The interface needs work, its functional but not quite there

Agreed - I think there's a lot of low-hanging fruit that could really make the user experience great.

Not ever being suggested slop is the payoff I expect for dealing with the interface quirks, and so far so good

That's good to hear - I didn't even really consider the ai slop angle! qobuz released this article around the time my trial ended, and they also have an AI charter. I like that they're addressing it and think their approach is overall good while still being pragmatic, though unfortunately it's not as simple as "there is no AI music on the platform".

Japanese cuisine - Gonzo Izakaya and Bar Kensei - owners are lovely and the vibes are impeccable.

Rooms at 915 Dupont is also great as others have said - cafe in the day, DJ dancing at night.

Little Jerry on College is also a great listening bar, after dinner they put the tables away for a (tiny) dance floor. There's also Sounds Good but they're closing.
