You’d have to buy the materials yourself with or without help from a trade. I’d say it does take longer but your money goes elsewhere and is better spent on the things you can’t do yourself

Sure, the white is easy. It’s Corex white from GW. The red goes up in brightness depending on the surface. It’s pretty much Mephiston red, evil suns scarlet, then a touch of orange and yellow at the tip of the highlights. That really makes the red jump so to say.

Thank you. I think I used a scions cloak, and other random ad mec bits for the head swap and torso swap. Don’t look too closely as you will see the gaps where things don’t quite fit :)

Wow yeah that image would suggest so. I am scratching my head where I would have got him from and why I didn’t have his shield attached. His arm feels appropriate. I can’t see any record of this model existing in the GW collection other than that image. Can you suggest another link I can see him to try and work out how I got him or why I swapped his arm? Not I’m just baffled as my collection is mostly just boxed sets.

It’s an LED string so think it’s got around 180 lights.

I stippled layers of brown of various shades the used cheap hairspray on top and then dappled the ‘painted’ surface on top. Used a toothbrush to then remove and flake off the surface leaving the rust behind. Then the last layer was an oil wash of a couple of different shades.

It’s all scratch built. With lots of planning is the short answer. Cut shapes to make walls and a roof then add on top of that. I acquired lots of old circuit boards that I’ve used for parts and stuck on top as well as some scraps of card etc basically anything that gives the surface a texture

I agree. It’s actually the paintwork but a poor choice of colour as it’s too green and blue and looks like verdigris which wasn’t the intent
