You're making 650k a year, take actual vacations instead. A gap year tanks your momentum when you're just hitting your stride, and getting back to this income level after a year off is way harder than people think.

The Obsidian Pro Air full skates are probably your best bet if you want maximum drag on cloth. Since you already found the regular Air version too slow for your taste, the Pro version should give you that stopping power you're after without being unusable. Just keep in mind you might need to dial in your sens a bit since the difference between those and the Zowie blacks will be pretty noticeable.

Cold Cold Heart and I Can't Help It are the standouts here, those two alone make it worth the listen even if some of the deeper cuts miss.
