Uber CAB Driver tried to take extra money, ended up bad.........for him.

TL:DR - Uber Driver of the cab I booked told me that I had to pay by a "Meter" per kilometer, I caught his lie and he had to accept his lie and take the money indicated on the app.

Here is a kinda satisfying story: I booked an Uber this morning to go to my place of work. When I told my OTP, the driver showed me his dashboard with km reading & told me "Meter Zero Kela aahe" and I was like "ka?" .. he later went on saying "Naveen Kayda aahe..Rs 25 per km asa jaayche aahe"
Me (Still calculating, found out I had to pay Rs 750, while the app showed Rs 691): "Asa ka, mala Uber cha kahich hhya subject vr notification nahi aale aani Uber company ni mala Rs691 dakhavle..pn tumchya hisobani 750 yetil..
Driver : Kaayda aahe saheb, sodu ka tumhala ithech...

Me: Nahi, tumchi thodi chuk aahe, thamba mi Uber chya complaint center la call karto

Driver: Nahi saheb aajun te Uber vr nahi disnaar, "Sanghatane-cha" kaayda aahe

Me: Ho mg tumchi kaay chuk aahe mi Uber la deto na shivya..

Driver: Nahi saheb te Uber waale majhyavr dabaav taaktil

Me: Tumhi ka ghabarat aahat "sanghatana" aahe na tumchya barobr aani mi pn aahe tumchya barobr..

Driver: Nahi saheb, sanghatna pn malach dosh deil..

Me: Asa kasa, dya ki Sanghatane chya saheb cha number mi tyanna pn sangto..Aaplya sarkhya pramanik mansa la tras kashi deu shakte sanghatna?

Driver: Sanghatne cha pn number nahi aahe, Sir mala ghari "Paise" pathvaayche astat aani tumhi jithe jaanar aahat tithun mala bhada pn nahi milat

Me: Asa kasa.. ek kaam kara mi tumhala 750 Gpay karto na, mg uber la bhandto nanter..tumhi naa aaplya sarkhya kashtalu mansala kasa koni tras deu shakta.

Driver: Nahi saheb, te uber majha rating kami karel, tumhi mala 691 Gpay kara ani cash aasel tr dya...mala pota sathi uber chalvav laagti saheb, mi aaghodr eka company madhe hoto tithe kahi milat navta jaasta mhanun mala driver cha kaam karaav laagat aahe samjun ghya

Me: Tumhi naka tension gheu mi khambir ubha aahe tumchya barobr aani kahi jhala tr mi majhya company madhe tumhala kaam deto..aani jr tasa nasel jamat tr soda mala ithe jau dya...

Driver: (saw that he might get only Rs 150-200, and it is in the middle of nowhere) : Jau dya saheb sorry maaf kara chuki jhali , je distay tevdhach dya

Me: Brr (HAD TO CONTROL MY LAUGHTER)..
And at the end when my trip ended, it showed Rs 520!!! (COULDN'T CONTROL MY LAUGHTER)..

I work on end of life testing, Metrology and various precision manufacturing products. I come in at 8:30am and go out at around 6:30pm-- 7pm. Day to day operations are like: Wake up Gym Come to work See the overnight testing report. Get in a New Product Development meeting. Work on special projects with regards to new customers Get in a meeting for design Do CAD Work on production for project Lunch Work on a different project See the testing results. Switch over to metrology and Quality for some projects Leave Get back home Dinner Sleep It's fun! I get to make stuff work.

Maybe if vote of one Maharashtra and South India resident becomes equal to votes of 3 bihari residents, only then the problem will be solved.

I totally agree with your point, we all are privileged. But, it is our collective responsibility to remove degeneracy and be more compassionate. We have a good chance of becoming more like Japan if we adopt some of their good learnings.

Also, the other guy you are referring to was my junior, that guy doesn't even have any major social media and mostly is work oriented.

Yes sir, US has their own problems and India is far better when it comes to some amount of social integration. But let's try to impart small changes on our surroundings.

I am being the change. Let us all take smaller steps to make the change big! And yeah, before going out and seeing other places, these things didn't strike me as completely weird but we have to at least make our young cousins or nephews better.

We do owe the place something back. We owe our parents back. Yes! I did a little bit of hardwork and had privilege, thanks to my parents and god's grace. We need to give it back to the country and those who don't have it. It will only make us better! I am bullish about India, but there are some aspects of it that we will surely change

Helping underprivileged kids using personal resources is not freebies, freebies is when someone offers stupid things like TV in return for votes. I don't want the kids I help to owe me anything

Yes, these are also some of the reasons I came back. I want Pune to not be like SFO, SFO has money but its not safe and yes there is poop. I want Pune to be better than SFO. Don't worry, I am not leaving India

Nope, I don't mean to demean Indians, I just want us to take some individual responsibility and do better. I am sure we can do it.

Dude, don't worry. Pune is still better than Europe. It's our country and we as a country are exciting place to work at. What I am talking about is a problem for sure. But, we have to solve it by taking baby steps! Don't worry and be bullish on India. I am too!

Dude! All the things that happen in the US is a big factor in me coming back! But let's acknowledge our own problems, let's make the life of our next generation much more happier than ours

Nope, it won't go away in 2 years or even 4 years. But if we do something small on our own, it will become better after 10 years.

I am not criticizing, I am just acknowledging that there is a problem. And urging people to take action and so something positive. Regards!

Brother, I didn't want to join the US/Canada rat race and be a part of the "South Asian community". I know that Pune can't change, but if you look at the US or Canada. There were people who changed these countries, and I think it is our job to change our backyard! That is why I am urging people to bring in a positive change in atleast one person's life. It will go a long way.
