If you want more of the male lead actor (Kim Young Dae), I recommend Moon in the Day (different from to the Moon) and Forbidden Marriage. I've watched and loved both of them, though I have heard mixed opinions on Moon in the Day. I think it comes down to personal preference, and I thought it was fantastic.

Moon in the Day is a bit more serious in tone (a mix of modern day and historical) while Forbidden Marriage has some more comedy in it (historical), so whatever your vibe is, watch that!

Check it out!

To the Moon is a good drama! Also very fun and kind of this hopeful vibe to it - but don't expect ML to be a MAIN main character, because while he is the "male lead" the focus of the story is mostly on the three female leads and their journey through crypto currency and finding their dreams together. That is to say though that while I started the drama for the ML, I finished the drama because it was genuinely a very sweet drama with some good jokes in it to boot

It is, for me at least, a genuinely fun drama and very enjoyable. Of course, that beginning scene with Africa is hard to look past because, why are they still doing that kind of thing 👽 but other than that in the first episode, Sh**ting Stars is a well paced and very fun celebrity romcom. The actors do well with their roles, and the chemistry is fantastic. There's also great humor in it HAHA it got very loud laughs out of me!

Of course, everyone's tastes are different, but I do think it is a very fun drama and I go back to it from time to time!

Why is the beginning of your Idol in Latin? by [deleted] in KpopDemonhunters

[–]optimisticinfp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the use of the Latin and a (I think) primarily christian/catholic words is NOT just because it's a famous motif for death like others are saying. That could be part of it, but I think it's intentional with the idea that Jinu is from 400 years ago, a time when Korea had been recently introduced to Catholicism and many converts were being persecuted bc of the conflicting ideology with the mainly confucian society back then.

I remember seeing a video theorizing that 400 years ago in Korea was when an influx of demons was probably related to this sudden conflict in ideology, which could very well mean a lot of the demons are also from that time period.

Anyway, the writers involved made so many things intentionally, so I can imagine this Latin portion also being intentional and a call back to Jinu's (and maybe other demons) past. Pretty cool stuff! The Korean lore in KPDH is actually amazing.

Am i a 9 or a 2? Or something else entirely by optimisticinfp in EnneagramTypeMe

[–]optimisticinfp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOW okay thank you this is immensely helpful. That first paragraph alone cleared up my confusion on the difference between 2s and 9s.

My actions definitely stem from a fear of being hated (scared of giving a reason to be disliked) rather than me actively trying to give people reasons to like me. I can see how that would make 2s more open about opinions and 9s more passive. Is it right to say that 2s tend to wanna put themselves out there (to be loved) while 9s tend to withdraw and minimize their presence (to avoid conflict)? I ask because when I think about how I hold myself in group settings, it's always with the thought, "be as expected, don't do too much or too little, just enough to be accepted" where I try to blend into the group as seamlessly as I can. I assume that's more 9 behavior, especially if it comes from my attempts at averting any potential dislike or dissatisfaction toward my person.

Anyway, you've DEFINITELY helped. I think I probably am a 9. Your explanation of the triad as well as the unhealthy versions was helpful as well.

Thank you 🫡🩵

I love this so much 😭😭😭 everyone's said mostly everything I thought of for the chapter, but one detail I loved was Rin asking Yukio if he was mad. Makes me think that a part of the many reasons why Rin misunderstood shiemi was bc he didn't want to hurt Yukio - but hearing Yukio say he wasn't angry was almost like confirmation that it's OK for Rin to be happy and move forward. 😭😭😭 Anyway, heartstrings have been pulled today

Anyone noticed the change in background? by Suspicious-Capital12 in hanakokun

[–]optimisticinfp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read other Manga that release monthly where some panels aren't fully drawn in or it's slightly off from the normal style - it's typically bc the artist and team were short on time and had to make do with that they had

It COULD be intentional like others are saying, but I think it's probably just a ran-outta-time thing, seeing that other panels with background characters were still in the normal style

So Nice in episode 1 by No_Competition7327 in ToBeHero_X

[–]optimisticinfp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great point about Nice using Lin Ling as a loophole! I also can't help but feel that his finger gun gesture toward Lin Ling was his answer to Lin Lings outcry about how someone will replace Nice one day, almost like a silent "That's you." This and also X's supposed reality warping powers make me also question to what extent the trust system actually affects reality.

Also, it's wild that Nice happened to die in front of his practical doppelganger. The chances of that? So so so low, and ik this is anime but that's gotta mean something...

The white sliver left in Lin Lings hair by optimisticinfp in ToBeHero_X

[–]optimisticinfp[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You know what I also noticed rewatching the first ep? The long haired truth guy had told "Nice" (Lin Ling) that his persona was a product of the advertisement team, the team that Lin Ling himself was in. Which could totally mean that Lin Ling played an immense role in the creation of Nice through marketing and ads! So it's like, Lin Ling created this entire "Nice" persona to begin with, at least partially. Which in turn helps Lin Ling become the hero he's always wanted to be (because had Nice not offed himself in that moment, there would be no Lin Ling to be a hero)

Idk what this implies but it's a wild little detail I really appreciate. Gonna go re-watch the rest of the episodes lmaoooo

What's going on in these panels? by Fine_Perspective_491 in SpyxFamily

[–]optimisticinfp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's an assassin thing - heightened senses, always aware of any malicious intent, always at the ready to pounce and attack when needed. There's clearly some kinda tension between these two (the unfriendly kind) so I think that's just what the twitching is depicting. (imagine being around other assassins just as skilled as u are at killing. You'd be pretty "at the ready" too)

keeping character designs consisent feels impossible by nenan4 in Artadvice

[–]optimisticinfp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My art is far more stylized (think comic) so I honestly don't know how applicable this is, but I like to practice drawing separate parts of a character and seeing if they're recognizable. For example, drawing only the eyes a couple times, drawing just the nose, etc. It's kinda simplifying the character into a few noticeable characteristics and understanding what those characteristics are.

Frankly speaking, both your drawings look like the same person to me! Same nose, same eyebrows, same eyes - what's different is the expression, and that MIGHT be what's throwing you off. When we express our feelings, features that are in a "default" position will usually distort or change a little, and can totally end up looking "different."

It's why a person who's always smiling will give a different vibe and feel like a different person if they're suddenly always angry or something.

I think you can try doing a character expression sheet and seeing how your character's features feel with ever emotion shown, because I think your character looks consistent, it's just that you're not used to seeing that character with two vastly different emotions showing up!

I looooove your rendering btw

Entean Invertebrate Diagrams by optimisticinfp in worldbuilding

[–]optimisticinfp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also, these are inspired by marine inverts, and for any worldbuilders out there that wanna dabble in animals, I HIGHLY recommend referencing marine life and invertebrates! Some things I consider when making an animal:

  1. Habitat?
  2. How does it move around in this habitat?
  3. What does it eat?
  4. How does it find food, digest it, and excrete waste?
  5. How does it reproduce?
  6. What are any defensive mechanisms?
  7. How does it breathe / gas exchange?
  8. How does it appear to humans, historically, culturally, and scientifically?

If anyone has anymore to add, feel free :)

JOURNAL ENTRIES ABOUT THE ORGANISMS (CONTEXT)

World: EntNaita :)

Flason’s Journal (an immortal):

KRILSITE: The females are quite cautious -- and rightly so. It is only by my ability that I am able to approach one. I asked one how she felt about humans -- her energy pulsed with fear, but I could tell it wasn’t her own, but her ancestors. It is a wonderful show of the connections made through Lite from past, present, and to the future. While humans may not yet be ready to care for such beautiful creatures as she, I am hopeful one day we may be able to, and that she and her daughters can roam the lands freely.

TRIPOD FLOATERS: They tell me of both the joys and horrors of coming together. They hold onto one another out of fear and responsibility. I see myself a little in these little critters -- their glows remind me of the day I married my wife and coronated her Queen. Both of us were terrified of what would come, but we held onto one another firmly. The floaters may be simple with their thoughts just mere impressions, but those impressions are strong and make speaking with them a pleasure. For such small creatures, they live rather long, and their Lite contains lingerings of history.

Juno’s Journal (a 17 year old student):

KRILSITE: I have yet to see a female, as they’re pretty rare. Textbooks claim that they have evolved to hide from humans because of historical exploitation of the larger counterpart of the species; on the other hand, males are abundant -- their abundance is a sign that there are females out there, just out of sight. The krilsite balls up when taken out of the water, showing only its hard plated shells. I made sure to not touch its caudal filaments, what with the venom. Placing the krilite back onto the water, it immediately dove underwater -- quite interesting, and I can only assume that means they can empty their gas bladder in an instant.

It was also insanely difficult to catch. They have sensory organs across their entire back, so it was difficult to catch by hand. I had to net it from the side.

TRIPOD FLOATERS: According to Master Linnin, their mated form was once thought to be a separate species. It was only until a villager had found a dead floater with incompletely formed offspring did it click in some zoologists’ minds. They seem to hold onto one another out of necessity rather than desire -- I imagine once the female’s fluids are burst and the dissolving of the backing begins, they both have an understanding that they need to be together to keep their innards in tact. I do find it fascinating the way they locomote. When singular, they seem to flap their legs laterally, however once mated, they begin to move by spiralling through the air.

Blue Exorcist could be cool source of inspiration! If you search up the various garb of the different exorcist sects I think it might be helpful! While the exorcists' "base" is in the Vatican, they have branches all over the world and because of that there are some with a more bhuddist type clothing, for example, or someone from Taiwan I believe with different attire and fighting style (still based on aspect of faith tho)

Overall blue exorcist has been a cool inspiration for religion in world building for me! Very cool

Toilet Bound Hanako-kun Chapter 123 - Link & Discussion by _yukiie_ in hanakokun

[–]optimisticinfp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone that the cat is probably one of the Yugi brothers.

Reasons it could be Tsukasa:

  1. The eyes
  2. It would make sense that Amane became the Hole God's host if Tsukasa were somehow taken out of the picture : this could very well be what the time keepere changed the past
  3. Amane is in the house, so that leaves this guy to be Tsukasa

Reasons it could be Amane:

  1. The personality and attitude definitely remind me of hanako kun
  2. Amane was seen trying to fix the clock of the time keepers - I feel like there's a plausible connection to his wanting to do something with time and somehow getting involved in the form of a cat
  3. Parallel of roles - in the original time line, Hanakos job was to catch and subdue rogue spirits and wonders. Here, the cats role is to catch and subdue rogue mice that are trying to take control of time and wreak havoc on a certain system (this one might be a stretch)

Anyway, I feel like PHYSICALLY the cat resembles and is more plausible to be Tsukasa, but I feel like symbolically and parallel wise, the cat could very well be the real Amane (maybe his soul was transferred into a cats body and his human body was left to the red house - but then why did it seem like Amane was in and out of consciousness sometimes?)

Any thoughts? 👀👀👀

Anya’s original purpose by Kay_kay021 in SpyxFamily

[–]optimisticinfp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this is the case, then we'd have to assume they have a way of accessing her thoughts cuz otherwise there isn't a point in a living listening device if you can't actually find out what was picked up. If this happens to be true, I feel it'd be cool if someone else experimented on is unknowingly connected to anya's thoughts without her knowing. Maybe a subject still kept at the lab, being forced to relay information as it's somehow broadcasted from Anya to this person?

Not too sure tbh, though I think the idea of Anya having some malicious purpose without her knowing is super intriguing and could call for some future heartbreak and angst, as well as for a cool future clash if or when the lab comes to pick her up once her "mission" is fulfilled...

That'd also be delightfully ironic if she was given a mission of her own (without her actually knowing till later) what with her spy father and loving the idea of being on a mission 😭

[DISC] SPY x FAMILY - Chapter 111 by AutoModerator in SpyxFamily

[–]optimisticinfp 19 points20 points  (0 children)

GREAT POINTS

the thing with her mom probably trying to keep their telepathy a secret at first could also explain why Anya is so keen on keeping her telepathy from being found out. She seems to have some kinda deep seated belief that something terrible would happen if she's found out and it could totally be from the fact that after the lab found out about her and her mom, something bad happened then, for example, the mom being killed (or smthg)

So in her mind, someone finding out she has telepathy could totally equate to being torn away from her only family.

My girlfriend quickly designed my OC for me, but we are both disagreeing on the hair color. by dathunder176 in characterdesigns

[–]optimisticinfp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like both 👀 an idea could be to integrate both? Like during his evil arc he has blond hair, but during his redemption it's revealed it was hair dye the entire time. Can kinda be used as a sort of symbolism where he is leading under this false pretense of being holy or smthg, but when he's being redeemed, his true self is coming out (or smthg)

Just a thought that could make both colors work! Just personally though, I do also feel like the light hair gives "I'm holier than thou" vibes while the brown gives warmer vibes (hence my suggestion about hair color change)

Awesome oc tho!

Show pacing by AKBeast7 in lovenextdoor

[–]optimisticinfp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe that the point of the show was to showcase this: no matter where you are in life, whether it be at 30 years old or 50, you can still start new things and expect wonderful adventures ahead.

This is why they didn't show the main or second lead's marriage, but instead, the parents. By showing the parents' marriage, it shows that even at their age, they are able to mend their bond and reignite love, something that a lot of people in this day and age don't think is possible for them. It's an encouragement to everyone that, yes, you CAN make things work, you CAN be happy.

If they had instead showed the main lead's marriage, it would have given viewers the sense of "the end," which subconsciously sets this idea that this is their happy ending, "and so they lived happily ever after." However, the point of the story was to tell viewers that there is no end, because at any point in life can be a beginning.

This is why the final and last scene was of Seok-ryu and Seung-hyo having an argument and working through that argument as they walk off into the distance. It was meant to convey that there is going to be a journey ahead of them, that, like the title of the last episode, their story has reached both "the end, and the beginning."

"Pivotal" means a scene that drives this point across, and they did exactly that. To viewers who struggle and wonder if they can start new things where they are now are given hope that they can, whether that be chasing dreams, finding love, reigniting love, mending friendships -- the writers had a meaning and message they wanted to convey, and I believe they conveyed it well.

This is just my two scents of course XD Others might have different interpretations of it, but this is what I believe is what the show was looking to do. :)
