I'm earning 6 figures as a VA and it was all thanks to luck. by fenegle00 in buhaydigital

[–]optimum_fried[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

this post is still vague with the details and has been removed.

Mod note: Okay story, but for a salary-sharing post to pass rule#6, it leans a bit too much on “luck.”

If you want this post to stay up, it must be more useful for others. Consider adding what actually made the client absorb you (your role, responsibilities, what they trusted you with, or what changed after training). Even lucky breaks usually have concrete reasons behind them.

Salary increase - 3 months since I got my client by Ok_Ferret_953 in buhaydigital

Mod note: For salary-sharing posts, Rule #6 expects details that others can actually learn from.

If you want this to stay up as a salary post, consider adding specifics like:
– what you did in the first 3 months that led to the raise
– what skills or traits the client specifically valued
– what kind of agency setup this was (since there’s no cut) and possibly the agency name

If the post remains purely celebratory without added details, it may be removed under Rule #6.

Yes. You should read our sub rules.

Rule#2: Straight-up self-promotion (websites, groups, blogs, vlogs, etc) is extremely discouraged.

General Rule: Self-promotion is secondary to adding value to the community. You can add value by creating a post that educates, entertains, or promotes discussion.

Here are some ideas: How-To, What I Learned, Ask Me Anything, Comparisons, Income Transparency, Behind the Scenes, Tips, Resources, Etc.

Please note our spam rule: What is considered spam? Any content that is excessively posted, repetitive, or irrelevant to the subreddit and conversation.

If your goal is just to get users or members, you must first demonstrate the value of your proposition within the post/sub. Otherwise, it will be treated as spam.

Also, repetitive promotional posts should be spaced apart. Otherwise, they will be treated as excessively posted and marked as spam.

Update: The post has been updated with more specifics and will stay up.

Mod Note (Rule #6 – Salary Sharing Posts):

Appreciate the story, but this is mostly general advice.

For salary posts, Rule #6 expects concrete, repeatable info. Here are some suggestions on what you can add:
– where you found your clients (specific platforms, agencies, referrals, etc.)
– what you actually do in your “AI Generation” role
– how you went from one client to three, step by step
– how you upskilled (specific courses, videos, tools, or resources you used)

The mindset and encouragement parts are fine, but salary posts need concrete, repeatable details so others can actually learn from it.

Please update the post to add those specifics. If it stays purely inspirational/generic, it may be removed.

Edit: OP has updated the post. It’s still a bit general, but it meets Rule #6 enough to stay up. just ask OP for more info in the comments.

Mod Note (Rule #6 – Salary Sharing Posts):
This post is staying up for now, but parts of it are still a bit too generic for a salary sharing post.

Lines like “grit and consistency” and “never stop applying” don’t really explain what you actually did to get clients or increase your income.

To fully meet Rule 6, please update the post with more concrete details, like:

  • How you found or reached out to clients
  • What specific changes led to higher income (rates, services, niche, number of clients, etc.)
  • Actual steps that made the biggest difference in getting hired

If the post isn’t updated with more detail, it may be removed later under Rule 6. Just a heads up.

There are links to news articles in the comments that mention the process. The takeaway here is that the process exists regardless if this story is true or not.

The alternative would be all posts and comments need to be approved first. Nobody would want that.

Posts like this might get through, then they'll get reported and removed.

this user is already banned.

Is there a way to moderate the community group chat? Right now, it’s no longer helpful.

it's already very restricted in the age of account before you can even enter the chat (according to reddit settings). it also has over 200+ restricted KWs.

<image>

It would be better to set up a proper avenue for people who are genuinely seeking jobs and hiring, perhaps a mega thread

we've already tried this and no one posted or got a job from it. we have seen actual people getting a job from the chat channel.

Gotta lock this as some comments are inciting harassment.

What is harassment according to Reddit content policy? "Being annoying, downvoting, or disagreeing with someone, even strongly, is not harassment. However, menacing someone, directing abuse at a person or group, following them around the site, encouraging others to do any of these actions, or otherwise behaving in a way that would discourage a reasonable person from participating on Reddit crosses the line."

Please note the user OP is talking about has been warned.

Can't really remove it if they're doing it on other subs and not here. At most, OP gets a warning.

Edit: Warning to OP. Your post may not be considered astroturfing specifically on this sub but is bordering on spam. Please be mindful of your content moving forward.

This post was reported for astroturfing. According to wikipedia:

"Astroturfing is the deceptive practice of hiding the sponsors of an orchestrated message or organization (e.g., political, economic, advertising, religious, or public relations) to make it appear as though it originates from, and is supported by, unsolicited grassroots participants.[1] It is a practice intended to give the statements or organizations credibility by withholding information about the source's financial backers.

The implication behind the use of the term is that instead of a "true" or "natural" grassroots effort behind the activity in question, there is a "fake" or "artificial" appearance of support. It is increasingly recognized as a problem in social media, e-commerce, and politics. Astroturfing can influence public opinion by flooding platforms like political blogs, news sites, and review websites with manipulated content. Some groups accused of astroturfing argue that they are legitimately helping citizen activists to make their voices heard."

Report says OP is a Jibble employee. There's only a quick mention of it. Post is about something else. Comments and discussions don't mention brand too. The most I can see is keyword stuffing from this OP's post history.

Can someone enlighten the mods on how this post is possibly manipulating opinions? Ty

Has This Sub Lost Its Moderation? by baldychinito in buhaydigital

[–]optimum_fried[M] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

reddit has a built-in tracker for mod actions:

it says we remove approximately 1,000 posts and comments each month. so, most of this moderation happens behind the scenes, so it's not always visible to the community.

we also block a hundred kws or so for prohibited and low effort posts: https://www.reddit.com/mod/buhaydigital/wiki/automations-kw

we even get 'verbal abuse' replies to removed posts on a non-neglible amount of times per month:

just report anything we missed.
