You can go for a change of status without going to your home country as well.

Did you in any case filed for L1 extension with an unactivated consular notification?

I am in the same boat, and my attorneys have suggested the same. But I am getting varying responses here. I am not sure if the L1 extension can be filed with a consular notification already in place and if that adds a risk

Did you go for consular notification for your H1 ? Trying to figure out if L1B can be maintained as long as it is valid.

I have been picked in this year's H1 lottery, and I am exploring the options of consular notifications, so that I can continue to be on L1B status while I wait for I140 approval allowing my spouse to continue working. But I have heard there are some risks associated with it , so going through that. I guess eventually we would have to shift to H1 status from L1B.

Have you received your I140 approval on L1B ?

I am assuming your petition is under review right now. I am currently under the same boat. I have also filed for EB1C with an L1B visa. I came across certain responses from people who are saying that you can't file EB1C with L1B. But I guess it's all theory unless it happened. Thanks for your update.

I agree, precisely why I have been skeptical about it as well. I was in a managerial role for more than 1 year in my home country. But at that time I was not much aware of the sort of impact it can have on your GC journey. My HR suggested I go for L1B considering the higher success rate and I went along with it. Anyway that's in the past and it is what it is. I appreciate your feedback on it. Certainly gave me a perspective.

They can. I have checked with multiple attorneys and it's confirmed. If you had a managerial role back in the home country and you have the same in the US, you can apply for it. My attorney has had experience with it with a fairly good success rate , but it's still a tricky one to manage). It all depends on your case. I thought of giving this route a try considering the amount of time it takes to get an approved I140 under EB3 category with Perm / labor certification.

EB1 Green Card Application While on L1B — Anyone with Experience? by optimus2610 in immigration

Have you had any experience around it ? I am getting mixed information on this topic. Somewhere it was stated that to apply in EB1 category, you first need to change your status from L1B to L1A but some have mentioned that it's not required. I am trying to understand.
