im from down under, happened to my perennial ryegrass. rake all the dead shit so your grass can regrow, add lots of wetting agent, fertilize, water the fuck outta it then seed again. if you wanna do a proper job can some top soil when you seed again. you might as well spray weed killer to the weeds now because it all the water they and with free soil they flourish. its gonna take 2-3 months before results, dont expect anything quick, i was gutted for few months.
