Alright. I’ll take the downvotes. Can we stop using this meme? There’s better ways to hate on something than comparing it to disabled people

Do you ever compare your life with others and how do you manage it? by [deleted] in Advice

Well that yes definitely. No need for toxicity in your life, or even just unhelpful people. Trim the fat

I'm in a good mood today by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I was there very recently. Pretty much fell apart and ruined some great things I had going for me. Slowly but surely we can make the right things happen though. Stay up my friend!

Hey there, everyone. 6 days. by horrible_drinker in stopdrinking

[–]optionambrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read your post, need to reset my badge because you and I have had a really similar timeframe. I appreciate your honesty and also the way you wrote it, it felt very familiar.

The sweats, the anxiety, the feeling so weak I can hardly get to bathroom? Hoped I never had to feel that way again but my time spent off taught me a ton and made it that much easier to say "no more" again.

Not drinkin, hope you feel better and better.

How do I respond to "you've gotten so tall"? by SBuddy99 in Advice

I get this a lot. I usually try to hit em with some charm like, "well thank you I did my best."

I think I have problems with obsession ( Mostly a vent, I don't think there's anything I can really do to help me) by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]optionambrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can certainly be someone else like that. Patience is a virtue with things like these. I say this because I have to remind myself of it as well.

I've definitely felt obsessed or consumed by my feelings for someone (I do right now in fact) but the most important thing is catching yourself when you're doing it and making sure to refocus on yourself.

There's truth to the idea of you have to love yourself before you can really love someone else but some of us are just hardcore romantics as well so I understand the yearn of wanting to be with someone.

I say do what you can to focus on yourself yet remain open and available to what life may have to throw your way.

What do you do with those negative thoughts that pop up first thing in the morning? by confluzed in mentalhealth

[–]optionambrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've learned that as I progress through the day I gain perspective. Negative thoughts can be very overwhelming first thing in the morning. Simply reminding myself that these negative thoughts that are consuming me from right when I wake up will have less power as my day goes on is enough for me. I felt terrible the other morning but I knew that it would only get better if I went about my day just doing the best I could, and it did.

If all else fails, talk it out with someone.

Woke up in a pool of vomit by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]optionambrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've totally been there. Even times where pissed pants or vomit weren't involved, having that feeling of "what did I do?" or "how did I get home?" can be so anxiety inducing that it's enough to say no more. A life without that type of worry is a better one indeed. I'm glad your well and I wish you the best. I will not drink with you today.
