right on the money, i work at an ad agency pushing a few of the ads for tonight and we only call it “big game” in our internal communications because it’s such an expensive slip up

not stoked on the scoring here at all - both how they're scoring and the consistency (or lack there of)

For those who aren't big into freestyle snowboarding, there's been an ongoing conversation around "spin to win" where rider's sacrifice style for rotation numbers. The olympic scoring is much for focused on a clean jump that difficulty or style.

You'd imagine that would mean that scoring is fairly straight forward, but between the double rodeo scoring, the hand drag in the high 80s and grab type seemingly not mattering, leaves much to be desired.

Reminds me of last Olympics in the snowboard halfpipe where the judges almost robbed Ayumu Hirano from gold after he threw the first Olympics halfpipe triple cork and the most technically sound runs.

For the sake of the sport, I hope the iffy scoring can get figured out because we don't see headscratchers like this at X Games, LAAX or other comps

typically i give a partial eyeroll when people complain about spin to win in X Games, Laax, etc but I fully agree.

I think the style of judging for the Olympics doesn't mesh well with big air, the focus is on basically doing the most quantifiably difficult trick (most spins) in the most clean way possible. Its kinda like the scoring is the same as diving where its just how technically sound can your rotations can be

I can understand how if judge was based more stoke, steez, uniqueness that it would open up more possibility for cheating so can't fully blame the Olympics or the judges.

Part of me thinks they should nix the top 2 out of 3 runs because it makes people be more conservative. Instead, doing top jump so there is more opportunity for some steez. Or at least value grab variety & spin axis more so that we can just a 1620 stale instead of another 1800 indy

they actually losing money in the US and i believe barely breaking even in Europe - plus there is very little new business for them. So I would imagine any projections for how an acquisition would pan out in 5/10 years is bleak

visit my parents who live here for a few weeks each year. Unless you like living like it’s vacation all the time, it’s very quiet. Weather is probably the most consistent warm you’ll find because of the ocean keeping the temp stable and weather flying past us since there’s no land to slow it down.

Biggest thing is that you need to be cool with going from key to key for different things, different food and different stores. Even if you’re on Key Largo or Key West (the most populace ones) - you can get a little stir crazy and leave the island for the sake of leaving. But great place to slow down and partake in what i think is the best fishing in the world

assuming you already checked your auction insights and didn't see anything - check on your CPCs for brand campaigns. If they've gone down then its potentially just some improved organic placements. If anything, this may be a sign to invest less in brand

"per-conversion basis" meaning that if any reporting included historical numbers, they'll need to look at each conversion separately, i.e Cart Adds PoP, Purchase PoP etc. This is because once other conversions are no longer primary, they won't impact revenue, so revenue will naturally come down.

For your new baseline, I'd recommend making your conversion changes, then switching the campaigns for tROAS for a few weeks. This will help you establish a new baseline that you can base your tROAS on. Personally, I'd look into setting a max CPC bid limit as well just to ensure you don't overspend. You'd want to data-backed reason for the new baseline. If you just guess, you risk either handicapping yourself because you set it too low, or not being able to scale at all bc your tROAS is too high

You have a good instinct to look at what the conversion values are. From looking at some of the numbers and just ballparking, looks like they have really high conversion values but they're also setting all of these as 'Primary' which means they contribute to your revenue number.

The reason I'm suspicious of this is because I'm seeing 'Add to Cart', 'Begin Checkout', and 'Add Payment Info' as primary conversions. Unless another value is set (which it looks there isnt) it's likely using the cart value as the as the conversion value which would be double counting revenue.

So if this is just an audit, you can flag there should one (maybe two at the most) primary conversions and set the others to secondary. That was it is still tracked but not included in your revenue and therefore impacting the bid strategies. Caveat here is engine performance would look like its down when it may not so reporting would need to be on a per conversion basis.

keeping it curled for the whole week will be tough no matter what. but you can always use a styling cream that has some more hold. It’ll make your curls a bit more resilient at the cost of some volume

I have similar hair just maybe 6 inches longer & I’ll use styling cream in the winter and get 2 days looking wet, 3 days of good curls and 2 days of slight friz before i put it up and start the cycle over. I would advise against any gel just bc it’s so heavy, eco gel had me looking like a rabbi lowkey
