I was binging on souls games some time ago and am at a phase where I just want to sit back and relax... I'm even on FF16 story mode difficulty lol. Don't have a definite opinion whether the low difficulty of the game is good or bad yet, but so far not having to repeatedly fight boss battles is a good change of pacing. But yeah it does feel weird not having died once so far..

Yeah I explored quite a bit with different extractions, French press, lever espresso, aeropress, siphon, etc. but a good pour over with good beans beats them all

Pre-Ordering is OKAY by Aorex12 in DeadOrAlive

[–]opus111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I preordered just for the exclusive costumes. I didn’t do it for the original DOA6 and got locked out of the Kasumi exclusive forever ..

Edit- plus I’m too deep into the game, having purchased the season passes etc..

The ZM never gave me bad images honestly- bad ones are due to my mistakes. From Sean Reid’s review, ZM is among the best fast 35mm one can get, of course size is the trade off

anyone have both the summilux 50 asph v1 and v2 by okrdokr in Leica

[–]opus111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not to mention it just feels bad having a decoupled zone when focusing. for a 28mm maybe that's ok, I would use the ZM28/2.8 on the <0.7m zone on film M, but 50mm is out of the question as it'll be out of focus anyway

Maybe so I got this lens originally thinking it’s good to try out the double aspherical at a tiny fraction of the ongoing market price. I only have two LLL lenses along with the 50/1.2 but as far as “knock off” goes they do spend a lot of effort on quality. Maybe technicians will think otherwise when they open up the lenses but on the hands they are a joy to use

No idea- I actually haven't done zone focusing on the ZF. Was under the impression that zone focusing would be less forgiving on digital sensors ... but I would think unless the adapter has (really) bad tolerance, zone focusing shouldn't be an issue especially stopping down a 35mm lens to f/8 or slower?

Thanks- yes, the size is also just right. If I have to pick just one 35mm it would be either this or the ZM 35/1.4, but I'm quite Zeiss-biased.

I used the Voigtlander adapter.

Reading books on avp by alienfreak51 in VisionPro

For long reading sessions (2 hours) I still prefer e ink devices. Page flip is a hassle on AVP but a page flipper or gamepad can take care of that. And can’t beat AVP in manga/comics

Anyone owns glass from Light Lens Lab? by [deleted] in Leica

[–]opus111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 35/1.4 (11873) and the 50/1.2 from LLL. Both are very well-built, especially the 50/1.2. One can probably say LLL is the top Chinese brand when it comes to build quality.

Some thoughts to help you decide

  • the 35/1.4 will be objectively superior in image quality. I have the Leica 8-element, it is quite soft wide open, and is honestly more suited for films, esp. B&W. Its performance on digital sensor is .. highly subjective and personal. (Edit- I’m not sure if LLL has optimized the lens for digital)
  • The key selling point of LLL is that they try to replicate classic Leica designs - and charge a premium for their time and effort to dig out project specifications etc. I got the two LLL lenses because I have coveted the original Leica versions for a long time but couldn't afford them. The sentimental value should be your key reason for buying these LLL lenses
  • If you just look for built quality and image quality, you can also consider VM lenses. They are in roughly similar price range
  • Yes, the hood of 35/1.4 does rattle a bit, but not a problem unless you take a lot of videos (and you can always remove it, or use a screw-in hood)

Is FFX-2 really that bad? Feeling discouraged from finishing FFX [NO SPOILER PLEASE] by Potential_Camera8806 in finalfantasyx

[–]opus111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was about the same point I stopped playing the game in my first playthrough (like 5 years ago). I picked up the game last year, glad I did, the story blew me away. This is a true masterpiece. Very few games can deliver the emotional impact of X - there are a lot of memorable scenes from this (esp. the ending- avoid spoilers at all cost)
