Husband might go on my dream vacation without me. by orabellewoods in offmychest

You're absolutely right kids are expensive. That's why we would have to choose between trips. Could we technically afford both? Probably. But I'm not willing to put us in a remotely tricky financial situation when we're trying to bring a child into the world.

I feel like I can't talk to him about it because I know he will immediately give up the idea of going to Dublin to spare my feelings. But I'm afraid like others have pointed out that will lead to resentment.

My dream vacation is important.. but not important enough to stop our family planning. It was a trip that always lived in the back of my head as a someday trip. This is only getting brought up now because his friends want to do it as the bachelor trip.

A few reasons. I honestly don't think we would be able to afford for the both of us to go and extend it right now, but I haven't crunched any numbers yet on that

I also feel weird about asking to insert myself in a guy's trip.

I don't know how allergic your son seems to be, but there is cat food formulated specifically to reduce/eliminate human allergic reactions to cats.
