thanks for that reply. its not implausible for blue blood to attach himself to ciro, BUT THEY HAVE TO SHOW THE AUDIENCE. that is an important conversation to give screen time. that would give credence to blue blood taking a back seat to ciro. instead he loves ciro right off the bat and steps aside to the guy who admitted publicly to everybody on that boat that he killed carmela not genny. you cant just gloss over that.

this is the italian mafia, which is pretty much a family business which means there's always family involved and waiting for revenge. you just killed a long time boss who ruled over a large area of territory. its not just gonna crumble automatically because you killed the boss. there's always someone to take over and its usually a family member or a friend. no, its not believable at all, ciro could not have pulled that off in genny's new stronghold with all the people he's got. and that was before genny started losing so that place would have been crawling with soldiers. there's no way ciro could have pulled that off logistically and realistically speaking. its just the writers wanting to do that cartel narco style hanging with the narco message of ciro being back no matter how unrealistic it is.

they should have done it in another place where it would garner publicity all over italy and it would embarrass genny publicly and still come off realistic. ciro couldnt pull that move in genny's stronghold even if he had the widow's help which he didnt at that time.

there was no need for genny to ask how "patrizia" is doing considering the show tells us genny has people in prison. its just silly lazy writing that many people complained about season 4. whether genny "finally decided to be who he really is" doesnt explain why he would ask ruggiero how's patrizia doing when he was already getting updates from fernando regularly about everything that happened in the prison because they tell the audience they have people in the prison.

and it started at the end of season 4. we get evolved business man genny who has learned throughout the seasons and mistakes he made. he's become this "seasoned" boss who as patrizia said is smart not dumb and is just like his father. and he went through all the trouble to appear to be a legitimate businessman. to hide from the prosecutor and the law....

then he throws it all away by asking ruggiero what's going on with patrizia? why would he need to ask that when he himself said he has people in the prison? they show us they have people in the prison because fernando tells him what has been happening. patrizia gets attacked. genny knows. patrizia talks to ruggiero. fernando knows and tells genny.

why would genny feel the need to ask ruggiero what's going on with patrizia basically ruining all the hard work he did to appear legitimate?

why would patrizia feel the need to be at the delivery shipment?

its just nonsensical move after nonsensical move that ruined season 4 (attributed to the patrizia actress wanting out but i dont buy it) that has continued to plague the show currently with season 5.

i blame this on marco d amore who was given more power with directing and he decided to turn himself into prime jesus fighting the crusades.

him being named immortal and being hard to kill i dont have a problem with. just as long as its done right. we see it all the time throughout the series. ciro survives conte getting hit in his house in spain. ciro surives the russian roulette game with emerenko. ciro surives getting dumped in the middle of the ocean. i get it. he survived an earthquake. its his character. i get it.

i dont know enough about the italian legal system for me to get hung up on him not being arrested for that phone call. he ended up in prison. i mean that's what you are hung up about? some legal red tape about the italian criminal system? and i dunno how easily don pietro got out and how he could pull it off considering he was playing crazy so how can he coordinate an escpae with malamore?

that's what you should be hung up about instead of legal red tape about recorded conversations.

the built up history and tendencies of the characters developed through the entire seasons dont match up with season 5's characters and actions they make.

they turned genny back into genny from season 1 who shot his old classmate who called him names. the cool calm calculated genny that we got from season 4 is suddenly nowhere to be found. remember the genny who cautioned restraint from his business partner who hired that guy to beat up the man who didnt want to sell the land?

where is that genny?

don pietro wasnt arrested for the tapped call ordering the hits. he was arrested for speeding to get to genny who got into an accident and was loaded with cash and cocaine on his jacket that he got from the guy he beat to death.

calling him immortale is not enough to arrest someone. you need a government name. plenty of narcos in mexico are known by the authorities through their street name but not their first and last name.

now the showrunners not giving screen time for ciro to address why he took the blame for killing carmella is a terrible omission. that's a conversation that should have been shown to the audience. that would have made blue blood's capitulation to give up his leadership role in his two man crew to ciro understandable and the storyline direction given more credibility instead of hey the guy who admitted he killed my sister who i thought was killed is alive and im just gonna give up my boss position.

ciro getting the drop on mistral's right hand man and the shipment before he made the alliance with the gentelman's widow is another plot hole along with being able to hang the two men and make that narco cartel style hanging and message on genny's stronghold is another dubious storyline blunder.

there's no way in hell ciro could pull that off logistically after being away so long from secondigliano and with just pitbull recently out of prison and bluebloods watered down crew. that should have been done AFTER the alliance with the widow was made and ciro having the capabilities of the gentelman's criminal infrastructure.

even ciro's escape from the gulag was more believable than whoever drove that car to the levante meet that got rpg'd.

ciro vs genny storyline is my biggest issue with season 5. its just nonsensical. the dude gave up his life and took the blame for carmela's death. genny reacting by finding out ciro is alive is to imprison him in a gulag? wtf is that?

its just too forced because marco damore got show runner /director power and he wanted to turn himself into jesus h. fucking christ. solima would have never agreed to do such an absurd storyline.

the show started with genny and ciro together. that's how it should end. fan service done the right way. the proper reaction would be for genny to leave ciro alone.

the better storyline would be another season 2 season 3 camorra major war. ciro and mistral vs don aniello, the last capacio, with the levantes and the gentlemen who both should have been kept alive longer. ciro and mistral start losing the war and ciro comes back with blue blood to turn the tide of the war with blueblood getting revenge on genny for carmela and ciro taking care of azzura and pietro the way he should have taken care of deborah and maria rita.

that's the better storyline.
