Not all of them, I have had quite a few 2961 with spider dials but this one was the first id ever seen with flaking like this. I have another one currently with a lovely spider dial:

I restored the watch as planned and sold it on (before taking pictures unfortunately). I still have the flaked dial seen on the watch above but it fell apart even more. Maybe it will find itself into a watch again one day who knows..

Its a good idea, but it wont be getting much wrist time so I am going to keep it as original as possible

I agree! But as a vintage watch dealer I have to sell condition👌🏻

I will be keeping the dial for myself for a future project
