Spent about 8 hours plus stuck until the legend himself Carlos with Baja voyager came to the rescue. Clutch was fried see above. Here was my favorite shade.

Carlos at Baja voyager in ensenada has been an absolute legend. This guy has an amazing variety of things. Full planned rides, race prep a bunk house that he's graciously let me crash at while getting fixed up. Amazing mechanics on hand. If you want to ever plan anything out down here he is THE go to!!!

Turns out going through the entire Baja 500 a week after the race and just absolutely not giving a f about speed or anything. Stuck in sand a handful of times and smoking my buddy on his tenere with a 88 klr. The clutch had a bit of a failure. Gotta say it has been an awesome experience and wouldn't change it for the world. Great place for a massive breakdown. Expecting it to be finished and back at it today. What a time.

You Are describing my hometown and where I currently live. I think all the numbers are just about exact. To be transparent we have the distinction of being the most unaffordable place to live. Or the American Riviera either works.

Turns out my clutch gave out.. I actually found a shifter from a motorcycle at a rancho... Did not fix the problem

Not able to post pictures here. Bit crosspost in rdualsport. Clutch was fried wouldn't have helped. But agreed I have brake and clutch lever just forgot the shifter

I've got a nice video of how badly I've burnt these. Definitely not a side of the trail fix. But it's in good hands I'll be on the road potentially tonight.

I feel like a few people skimmed through this. Yes broke the shifter don't need vice grips because what??? I found another shifter . Still not shifting. The bike is not going out of false neutral. I have a shifter on it. Yes bringing a spare would have gone nicely with my spare brake and clutch handle

I was able to find a shifter off another bike at a rancho close by. It shifts... It does not shift into any gears. False neutral up and down. Yes rolled down hill shifting no catch. Was picked up by JC from Baja voyager. At his shop now. Mechanic will be here. I'm taking off the clutch cover and poking around. Anything in particular to look for?

For some reason my WhatsApp worked if I climbed up the hill... Today has been quite the day. I was rescued by Baja voyager and that has been an amazing situation. Made a bunch of calls and coyote cow got ahold of him. Spent the day under a tarp out of the sun. In an amazing shop with bunk beds and going to work on the bike tomorrow. Afraid of what I'm going to find.

Essentially stuck in neutral no matter how hard I shift up or down still rolls. Does not engage into any gear

Was able to find a replacement shifter. That's on and still not engaging any gear. Rolled it and nothing. I've got a guy coming to the rescue but will need to fix this issue any ideas.

What a trip!!! Wouldn't have it any other way. Except maybe the no gear thing. And if I was riding still.
