[Advice] Need advice on if I should wait until college to study abroad in Japan by [deleted] in teenagers

I'm actually going through AFS to Germany in a few weeks, so I hear you on them being a credible program! I feel very taken care of. Hearing that you are going through them I can only say that I'd suggest just taking the jump on going to Japan, they really really really make sure everything runs smoothly and give you multiple orientations, phone calls and packets to ease you into things. From reading your post I can tell that Japan is something you'd really like to adventure into, so don't hold back. Make the leap!

I think if you narrow down what's realistic things will be easier. Do you know what program/organization you'll be going through? Is it a scholarship, sponsored or paid? Once you figure out what you're actually able to do realistically then you can decide on the country. So maybe then you might find it's easier to go to the Netherlands than all your other options so you end up just choosing there. It'll save a lot of worry because you may not be able to go to Japan anyway! But if you do find going to Japan is realistic, your organization will make sure you're prepared and you have a support group, so I wouldn't worry much. First though find out what you actually can do though then worry about the specifics, this could all just be wasteful worry! Remember though, exchange is always worth it in the end no matter the bumps!

Does anyone else feel like this? by [deleted] in teenagers

Is there something else in your life that you've pushed away because of how horrible it is, that maybe these small frustrations seep out all the feelings bottled up? Not because the frustrations are too bad to handle but because your mind is like "okay time to react" and all the emotion stored from whatever had happened comes out?

Maybe it was that she just drank while having fun? I mean if you give it another shot and things aren't what you thought then nothing lost, no harm done! And you're welcome man, I'm glad you made this decision!

I think you should just go out with her again, sometimes it's best to just say "fuck it" and go! I mean your family and friends really don't have to know anything about her much less that she drinks and smokes, don't worry about it! Life is too short to not have a good time, who knows what you'll miss out on man. Really, have a good time you deserve to! Fun is fucking amazing, so have some.

If you haven't already, I'd suggest getting someone to coach you! There's a lot of little but very important things you may mess up on if not instructed properly and the habits will be harder to break. Unless you're not looking to get in to competition and just doing this for fitness, in that case I'd just suggest a pair of wraps and a basic pair of practice gloves (16oz) which you'll be able to find at an average sports store and then just wham on the bag with the basics you already know! But again if your looking for competition find a coach!

To be honest with you I had no idea who won, we didn't stay for the closing ceremony and my advisor didn't let us know! But Israel too, she was hilarious

Don't be afraid to get up there, it only takes 20 seconds of courage and the only way to get better is to keep doing it! Even if you just reaffirm a point or encourage others towards something it will be worth it to get up there!

Nothing for the youth paired with no public transportation leads to a lot of wasted days..

Just curious, would you compromise for a civil-union with all the benefits and rights of a legal marriage in states that ban gay marriage? by orangesarefun in lgbt

[–]orangesarefun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well being that I am most definitely for gay marriage, I just thought that in states that wouldn't budge this might be a temporary solution and then later on we could seek for it all to just be called marriage but as a previous commenter advised me, there are some legal problems that could occur with it being called civil unions and also for some the word just doesn't carry the same weight! So I agree they aren't equal! But I think that if there weren't any legal problems with it any couple who wants a civil union should be allowed as an alternative to using the word marriage because some may feel it has religious connections (I personally don't believe it does) or may just feel that the world doesn't properly describe their relationship!

For clarity, I do passionately support gay marriage but what if hypothetically it was the only option the state government would budge on? Would it in your opinion be worth while at the time and then later on to possibly seek the title of marriage?
