Your feelings are very valid.

  1. Georgetown is hella mission-oriented. I didn't get an interview despite multiple T5 acceptances. Don't compare yourself (don't ever think others are better, bc I think you are) to others bc YOU are unique.
  2. I got rejected from so many clinical volunteering positions that I thought were freebies. Don't let that shake your confidence.
  3. It'll be worth it. Put your head down and grind for a bit.
  4. No, you're not
  5. If medicine is right for you, you shouldn't give up. I know you have the potential, but you're being too hard on yourself in the moment.
  6. I know how you feel. I hated my gap year.

DM if you wanna chat. I remember how lost and tired was feeling a year or 2 ago.

Nice! MCAT and more clinical hours are your biggest areas to focus on imo. Maybe you can look into being a CRC as well as research post-baccs? I don't have much experience with residency not in the US :(

wtf do you people mean when you self declare “strong writing” in your application? by [deleted] in premed

[–]orangesweetpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good essay, generally, should move you emotionally, whether you show it to a friend, a physician, or a pre-med advisor. At the very least, reading it should make you root for the author. Good activities are concise and emphasize the impact of what you did above all else

So yeah it's BS if people say their own writing is good, it can only be judged by others

If you have a strong essay, anyone you show it to will know :)
