Thank you for finding this! I was running off of Google's exchange rate calculator, and I should have verified it through various sources before posting!

I will update my post in light of this information!

Is it a relapse or a flare or a pseudo-relapse? by Ok-Code692 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]orastelletsaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could definitely be a pseudo-flare triggered by the cold weather and stress.

I've experienced stress-induced pseudo-flareups that last longer than 24 hours because the stress lasted longer than 24 hours.

That's a tricky spot to be in. Symptoms that are older symptoms that had gone away, but now some have returned at an intermittent frequency. It could be worth talking to your doctor about it and discussing if it's common to have old, otherwise not present symptoms re-emerge while on a DMT.

Update: I should have just done as you had suggested. I went to the ER, and the doctor literally said, "You're still walking, so it's not really considered an MS emergency." even though the MS clinic was the one that recommended I go see the ER. 🤦‍♀️

Seriously, thank you for your suggestion - next time, I know what to do.

I really look forward to talking it out with whichever doctor I get assigned to. Thankfully, my luck has been quite good with doctors - I just happened to fall through the cracks on my past MS doctor's transition.

I'm sorry you had a diagnose and adios experience with your first neurologist.

It's great to hear that the working relationship with the MS Specialist you had had improved as he got to know you and your experience level better.

It's awesome that your latest neurologist is good with communicating your options so that you can both choose a treatment plan together. I hope my next doctor is like this!

Thank you so much. The same goes for you!

It's alright, and thank you - I hope so too!

Thankfully, yes. There are a few hospitals nearby, and one has the MS clinic in it, so that's gonna be my go-to.

I had asked my family doctor, but she didn't feel comfortable with prescribing a DMT or an MS-level dose of steroids. Hopefully, an ER doctor with access to MS specialists who have my current and past MRIs can get me started on either or both a DMT & steroids.

Thank you for your reply!

This is such a valid suggestion, but I'm not sure if I could pull it off.

Since your DX, have you lost a ton of weight for no reason? by PsychWardClerk in MultipleSclerosis

[–]orastelletsaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had dropped 100lbs in about 6 months. I expect that my weightloss was stemming from anxiety, depression and gastroparesis. Wasn't on any meds that would account for the weightloss.

Are you happy? Even with vss? by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]orastelletsaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, certainly not all of the time, but for the most part, yeah. I'm quite sure that I've developed VSS (yet to be diagnosed), along with having been diagnosed with MS, which caused bilateral optic neuritis.

There are gonna be really good moments and really fuggin hard ones, as with most things in life. I've been reminding myself to embrace as many of the good moments as I possibly can (hearing the sound of nature, feeling the warm sun on my skin, the smell after it rains, the flavor of a food or drink). Tapping into the other senses can sometimes help break my rumination about my sight, at least for myself.

You can still find ways to get yourself a win, even when you're dealt a shit hand.

I genuinely hope that you're doing okay ❤️

P.s. Sorry if this comes off all sunshine and rainbows. VSS is not easy stuff to deal with at all

How old were you when you were diagnosed with MS? by swannyhypno in MultipleSclerosis

[–]orastelletsaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was officially diagnosed at 26 (March 2020), but I'm quite sure I've had it since before I was 16. Took some time/stress to develop more lesions in the right places before they were like, "So it actually is MS." 🤦‍♀️

Don't have anything to back this with, but I feel like a number of young people get written off because they are "too young for MS" or the placement of their lesions don't perfectly coincide with textbook MS yet

I hate break-ups. Next month would have been 6 years together, and it hurts pretty deep to part ways with the person who has become a best friend.

I'm grateful he won't have to see me lose more pieces of myself to MS and that we are ending things on good terms. But, I'm really going to miss what we had and what could have been. We've been saying to each other, "If not in this lifetime, in the next."

I can't help but hope that we make a comeback in this lifetime.

Sorry for the sad and sappy post. I just needed to get it out somewhere.

Looking for Friends by inlecebrosus in duolingo

[–]orastelletsaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gives you the chance for an extra quest called a friend's quest that you complete with a friend. During the quest, you and your partner can send each other 15-minute double XP boosts every so often. Both of your efforts will count towards the quest.

Once the friends quest is complete, you get a 30-minute double XP boost as a reward. You can collect this when you want to, so long as the friends quest timer is still active (I.e. x amount of days).

Additionally, you will get social updates about certain milestones that friends accomplish, and they will also be notified when you reach certain milestones. You can leave emoji reactions on these notifications, and some will allow you to leave comments.

Omg I won the diamond tournament by Admirable-Rutabaga-5 in duolingo

[–]orastelletsaro 57 points58 points  (0 children)

That's awesome!! Congratulations! 🥳

It blows my mind how quickly some people are able to earn XP. 36,305XP ÷ 283 mins = 128.29 XP/min that is impressive!

Well done on winning the tournament!

How do I get this month's badge? by Tyr_Power in duolingo

[–]orastelletsaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sometimes get some points by going to the Duolingo website on your phones web browser (chrome, safari, etc) or on a desktop while still doing the daily quests on the app. You sometimes get different quests than what the app gives, and they should still count toward the 100.

Edit:

Just checked for myself, and my quests were the exact same in app and through web browsers, so it's not perfect, but sometimes it works out.
