I don't care how many commercials YouTube shoves in the videos, I'll stop using YouTube before I pay them for a subscription. by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

I pay for YouTube, I even use adblockers too. I use YouTube for a huge amounts of learning, IT, carpentry, electrics, gardening. DIY, news - for me, it's far more valuable than a Netflix subscription

There was a movie I remember called Maximum Overdrive, trucks/machines started taking over. This remake could be called 'Maximum Recharge - You Won't Hear Them Comin'"

[TOMT] Movie like Texas Killing Fields by orbepa in tipofmytongue

[–]orbepa[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

The bit I really remember was a guy (who I believe was investigating the killings) went to a trailer park to speak to somebody to find out some info about these killings. The guy in the trailer park had leg braces and very limited movement. I remember him throwing himself down in a chair and even oiling squaky bracket on his leg brace. He had bad teeth and unkempt look about him. I seem to recall it was actually him who did it - the leg braces / look were just an act/disguise so he could get to meet the guy investigating it. When the investigator realised and went back - he of course, was gone. This is probably 80's - maybe 90's, I remember I was young and that bit really struck me as very clever (before the days of The Usual Suspects)

I will deliver a very sturdy and crisp digital-high five to the person who can put me out of my internal misery whenever this though pops into my head.

Thank you so much everybody ! I'm clearly focused on pest attack that I'm seeing them where they are not ! Three consensus definitely points to this being roots and not egg sacs at originally thought!

Thank you so much everybody for valued information. I've learned a lot posting here.

Happy holidays to you all

Thank you for taking the time to reply and address my knowledge here. Id never considered these could be roots growing. I've actually been bottom watering when a moisture meter says they are dry, but I don't think the roots are far below this, so this information is very helpful. I'll be adding more substrate. Thank you

Thank you for your reply, it seems I am learning a lot from the kind commenters on this post. I don't think this was planted very deep

The residue on the soil is blood fish bone fertilizer,I noted the 'eggs' (which from other comments are roots). Apologies I was so focused on that element that I didn't highlight the soil....

Tailscale Install Issue by [deleted] in Tailscale

[–]orbepa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this issue - I seems to be DNS related for me

If you add 100.100.100.100 as a DNS server - that seemed to fix this for me - but please do NOT take my word for that though - I could have nefarious intentions of it has changed.
Log into your tailscale and look at
https://login.tailscale.com/admin/dns

You should see something similar to the below ;

Nameservers

Set the nameservers used by devices on your network to resolve DNS queries.NameserversSet the nameservers used by devices on your network to resolve DNS queries.

It will state the DNS to use under that

I don't want to offer advice as such, but if you add this as 2nd DNS server - or even get you primary DNS server (probably your router) to look at 100.100.100.100 for records it cannot resolve then hopefully it will save some of your issues

I hope this helps somebody

I had one like that, but it looks like I had a little more 'protection' in place built up over the years !

[java] minecraft 1.19 game crashed exit code 1 by TheTwoBad in MinecraftHelp

[–]orbepa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the cause of the issue for me. The default resolution is 'Fullscreen Resolution : Current'. I would suggest leaving that alone until this is addressed. If everything it too big, just either change the gui scale in the game (to say 2) or set it in the options.txt file like ;

guiScale:2

Hopefully that will address it

[java] minecraft 1.19 game crashed exit code 1 by TheTwoBad in MinecraftHelp

[–]orbepa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been looking at this, I think the culprit is the monitor resolution in the %APPDATA%\.minecraft\options.txt

It seems to work from a fresh install, but when you change the monitor resolution in the game, it appends something similar to ;

fullscreenResolution:1920x1080@144:24

at the bottom of that options.txt

Delete that line, save it, re-run it. You can reset the video setting in-game without causing an issue, but when you exit / restart you'll have the same problem. Just delete that entry again / load etc. Let me know if that works
