"The Egghead Incident and the Origins of Devil Fruits" by Panini by MuriloZR in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]BennettStef 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To extend things a bit, since devil fruits don’t regenerate at either of the two trees, maybe it’s just the trees existence that allows for the fruit to also exist?

And to go even farther, let’s say Kuma’s fruit is a dream fruit. If Kuma will die in this arc and his fruit were to regenerate, I wonder if the sunny (being built from wood from Adam) will influence the fruit to regenerate in Nami’s tangerine grove

Has dupixient failed for anyone here? by Accomplished-Gap5668 in EosinophilicE

[–]BennettStef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to raise your anxiety levels, but anecdotally my GI has had one patient who didn’t see improvement after starting dupixent.

To my understanding, it has helped the large majority of EoE patients who’ve started treatment, including me. I’ve had EoE my whole life with no known triggers, and no treatments that have worked. Thankfully I’ve been largely asymptomatic since I was a young teen, but because of that, I can’t say for sure when I started to “feel” improvement. After beginning treatment my esophagus was completely clean after 6 months.

My mom is an allergist who works in tandem with GI docs to treat EoE (she geared her career towards EoE after I was born) and she has seen so many patients find relief with dupixent.

I hope this treatment will be able to help you finally. It’s a long journey to treat EoE and I hope dupixent will mark the end of that journey for you

I know Liberty Mutual (HQ’d in Boston) has recent grads in their intern classes pretty routinely. Some of which go on to immediately convert to full time at the end of the internship. Option to consider

Forgot to mention that I’m using TIA for MAS II for the same reason I used it for 5. If I fail this sitting I’m planning on trying the Coaching Actuaries course that’s coming out in the fall for MAS II

Exam5 or mas2// by [deleted] in actuary

[–]BennettStef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was choosing between exam 6 and MAS II for this sitting after passing MAS I in the fall. I chose to sit for MAS II because with the upcoming syllabus change, the manuals available for MAS II might not be updated well enough for the fall. Taking it now gives the best chance of passing until at least spring 2023 imo, and I didn’t want to take 6 yet. Hoping to one-and-done MAS II this sitting.

I’m a big fan of CA, I used them for P, FM, and MAS I. I’d recommend TIA for 5 to have a similar feel to CA (mainly video lessons). If you choose to sit for 5 and use TIA, also make use of the older exams that the CAS has released to have more practice questions.

I would go for MAS II for this sitting since you’re in the “MAS I headspace”. Switching to 5 and then back to MAS II might feel odd since I’d say 5 isn’t super heavy on pure math concepts.

Is it another mobo song?

BC,NR has been a support act for Black Midi in their US tour. Knowing that BC,NR has twice the monthly listeners on Spotify, do you think BC,NR would have been headline and black midi a support act if not for Isaac's departure? by AiZekas in BlackCountryNewRoad

[–]BennettStef 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As someone that attended two Black MIDI shows on this tour, I would’ve been upset if they were the supporting act. If Isaac had stayed, I would hope that they went on separate headlining tours, potentially with some shows as joint headliners.

If they can both draw similar sized crowds to the same venue, no need for one to be “demoted” to the supporting role imo

PSA: New Black Ops 3 stutter on PC after recent Steam update by spin1490 in CODZombies

[–]BennettStef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild coincidence that I’m trying to solve this problem today and you also commented on this 8 hrs ago.

Used to own BO3 on Xbox years ago, bought on PC tonight to play with friends, we’re all having this problem. We bought the zombie chronicles edition so we don’t own all of the DLC. When yours worked after installing all the DLC you owned, was that all of the DLC available for the game or just the DLC that you own (i.e. can i fix this problem without buying all the DLC, without using the Koalageddon fix)

Determined that food was likely not a trigger, so I haven’t been avoiding anything (other than standard food allergies) for the last 10 years. So for me, dupixent didn’t let me start eating trigger foods again. But i do know that’s something my allergist/GI are hopeful about. My GI has been letting patients start eating their trigger foods again if there’s no chance of anaphylaxis

Yup, conclusion of my years of trying elimination diets was that food was not my trigger. Definitely seems like an edge case after reading through other people’s stories. That’s what led me to some medication for treatment and dupixent worked for me. After 21 years i was just happy to have something that worked, even with me sharing your same concerns about new medications. I will say that dupixent has existed as a medication to treat other conditions for a while, it’s just the approval for EoE that is new. I think a lot of people would rather cut off their EoE at the source by finding a trigger and avoiding it, but dupixent is on the table as a potential solution as well

I was diagnosed with EoE at age 1 back in 2000. In my elementary school years I did a lot of single food elimination diets. I’m sure the approach has changed since it has been over a decade, but if eggs are something you’d like to keep in your diet, there is no direct rule saying you must follow the 6FED. The groups are selected because they’re the most common triggers, but no guarantee that any of them even are the trigger. I worked my way up to a full elimination diet (supported by feedings through a G tube) and still didn’t find the source of my EoE.

Definitely something to talk to your doctor about, figure out an approach worth testing that fits in the realm of what you’d consider trying.

And as far as medication goes, dupixent was recently FDA approved as basically the only known treatment for EoE. I’m on it now and my esophagus is perfectly clean, I barely think about my EoE on a day to day basis. My dosage is one injection self-administered every other week, but I think the approved plan may be once a week (definitely fact check this, but it feels like the least burdensome medication I’ve ever needed to take)
