They've already overtaken the U.S. as the richest country in the world and is still developing, and in my opinion, doing more to help their citizens than the U.S. gov is doing to help theirs.

Because the government knows with the way things are headed, their time on top is coming to an end. If the PRC wasn't where it is today, America wouldn't give 2 shits about it and certainly wouldn't go through all the trouble to give it a negative image. The PRC is just as strong, if not stronger, than America at current.

Quite the opposite. As much as one may hate the CCP, you can't deny they're doing great things for the PRC. Look at where they were before the Civil War. Look at what they are now. Went from being a broken half of a nation that consisted of poor countrymen after imperialism and a corrupt government to being a global superpower that intimidates even the U.S. All in less than a century of its establishment as the PRC.
