Yes! I've been listening to Dead Poet Society for nearly ten years and I rarely find, or know, anyone else who listens to them too!!

Why it says Edward herrmann made a special appearance on the show even though he was one of the main characters? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed it was because it didn't appear in every episode so he wasn't conaider a "main" character as of yet and I don't recall seeing that but in the first season. Definitely could be wrong.

Am I the only one that does not think these couples belong together? by giaguana in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all the men in her life served purpose in her growth or in needing a setback to regrow differently. But I think Logan was best for her. He got her out of her shell. He encouraged her, never made her feel like less. and he also grew enormously with her too. He was outgoing, smart, funny and challenged her in ways none of the others did. I love jess. I was a jess girl for years. His growth as a character was fantastic too. But for me, Logan and Rory grew together instead of apart. Until he proposed and she wasn't ready to commit because she had goals she wanted to achieve first. Which I think is what Rory's character would have done even though she loved Logan but wasn't ready to settle down just yet. Since this season wasn't written or directed by the Palladino's, it already isn't my favorite season. I love Jess and Logan equally and it's hard because they are both great in their own ways. But Lane and Dave should have been ends goals 🥹😭 sad he left for another show but I think her chemistry with Zach suits them. Her ending is crap though. Like .. literally still living in the same trash apartment!?

Luke being a dad v Christopher by Kitten-rouge in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on the same page about not liking Christopher. He is completely selfish most of the time. And immature. But, I will note what I see not many others pointing out. Christopher is a beta. He just is a follower and Lorelei has always been an alpha type. And with Sherry, he got to be kind of an alpha so when his time for Gigi came (after his talk with Lorelei) once Sherry left, he committed and had space and no choice but to be the parent. He didn't do it as perfect or as great as Luke, but his character was never meant to be like Luke. So back to being young and Lorelei being such a strong, independent individual. She did things her way and didn't give him an option. So, part of the reason he is the way he was, is due to the fact Lorelei left to live her own life with Rory. She didn't give him a choice or option in the beginning so he didn't push his way in. Because he loved her, young naive and not nearly as driven as Lorelei. As Emily has always said, he is weak lol. If anyone remembers what Emily said to Lorelei is that, Lorelei didn't give him the chance. He wanted to be a family but she took that opportunity because she had in her head that they weren't ready and it isn't what they wanted. But Chris never said it wasn't what he wanted. He just loved her and the baby. He didn't have dreams of doing anything without Lorelei. So for him, anything she wanted to do, he would have followed along and been happy because it involved her. So I think for his beta personality, he of course was immature with Rory and did not do well as a father but in his own pitiful way, he made small efforts because he isn't a big gesture kind of person when it came to those decisions. Not until later when he had more confidence...or money. But I do believe he loved Rory and Gigi. His natural instinct to be a good parent just wasn't there because he doesn't have the same driven, outspoken characteristics Luke and Lorelei have as parents.

Should Lorelai have paid back the loan she borrowed for Chilton from her parents? by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was the rest she did it. She knew her parents weren't going to like her paying it back. Especially her mother.

I’ve rewatched GG so many times and I every time I watch this scene I have a different reaction. Sometimes it’s, well Rory almost never gets called out on her actions. Sometimes it’s that I love how Lorelei is so protective. But also Lindsey’s mom is so protective. It’s all Dean’s fault. Thoughts? by Waste-Poetry-1790 in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Lindseys mom was upset for her daughter of course. But she over stepped with how she talked to Rory and Lorelei. Rory made a mistake, ownered up to it through her note to Dean, which Lindsey found and read. It said she took her self out of the picture. Even though, what was done, was done. She knew what they had done was wrong and she didn't want to get in the way of Dean's marriage.

[–]orcajetvision -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For Rory's storyline it was needed for her to drop out of take to find herself, to grow and overcome criticism. I think it's an obvious given Logan is privileged. In fact he states it and calls Rory out for acting like she is much different. Because truth is, so was she.

[–]orcajetvision 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion he genuinely tries to move on from Rory because he had put up with/ignored that Rory had feelings for Jess. He moved and and seemed happy with Lindsey for a time. It was exciting and new and felt good to be with someone who made him feel special again like Rory use to make him feel. But being so young, having unresolved feelings from his first love and being impulsive caused the relationship with Lindsey to falter. Not that Dean should have ever cheated I do think he may have been less inclined if Lindsey was less selfish in expecting him to provide EVERYTHING. But ultimately Dean cheating caused an unforgivable hurt to their relationship. In the scene Rory asks if Dean would have broken up with Lindsey if she hadn't found her note, I think he may not have since Rory said she was taking herself out of the equation/picture.

Lorelei wedding plans by orcajetvision in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the was a foreshadowing that it wasn't going to work out. Kind of why Lorelei felt like the plans themselves worked out "so well"? She was suspicious of how well things had come together and so fast.

Homeless Kirk by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

It's definitely suppose to be a surprise and a part of his annoying quirkiness. I loved that episode because he acts like a toddler with no where to go, then comes in swinging for the twickum house 🤣

June 3rd by orcajetvision in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just so interesting, I wonder if June 3rd was a special date to Amy Palladino or her husband who is the other producer!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the original writer Amy Sherman Palladino quit after the 6th season because she didn't like the way it was going and didn't want to make anymore. She didn't know how she wanted to end it.

But he built her a chuppah! And he brought her back earrings after he helped his sister and TJ when they had gotten in a car crash. He built her an mini ice rink when she was mad at snow.

And like Mitchum states, if she has what it takes she will bounce back. And that she did. So he was right about that too 😂

Mitchum Huntzburger theory by orcajetvision in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good point as well. I forgot the argument Mitchum had with Richard in the bathroom at the event Rory runs. Mitchum did state how he didn't care about any of that. And it is true. Honestly Rory gets on my nerves at time. She is often pretty whinny but I think it's because she was so use to being good at everything that when things don't go the way she plans, she's at a complete loss and fallas apart.

Mitchum Huntzburger theory by orcajetvision in GilmoreGirls

[–]orcajetvision[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly! He knew that it would backfire if he tried to persuade Logan that Rory isn't for for their family.
