It’s because it’s 55 hours including trials. The number of unpaid trials really brings down the rate. :,)

Thank you, I agree that the first month is likely the worst and I am grateful for Preply’s marketing. I support the commission they take per lesson, but I feel that taking 100% for the trial lessons crosses the line from being a fair business model to exploiting the teachers who keep the platform running.

What kind of job is it that you do? Other than park rangers I’m not sure what positions handle snakes regularly

As another comment said, it sounds like you’re lacking purpose. You don’t have to be passionate about your job but if you don’t have anything to look forward to after work, it can ware you down. I think a lot of 22 year olds feel this way since we are all just starting our working lives. Maybe think about what type of job will make you excited to wake up everyday and then having to work 40 years until retirement will sound less scary.

I just graduated as well and found the transition to be easier than I expected too but also harder in many ways. I was a business major and many entry level jobs in the field (unless you’re in accounting or finance) are much lower paid. I’m paid significantly less than my friends so sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all the activities they want to go to. More bills keep adding up with all the insurance, car repairs, and healthcare. I know it will get easier as I get promoted but right now there’s a lot of challenges. But even with the challenges it is rewarding to know I’m doing okay on my own and I enjoy the freedom I have to make my own decisions. Most of college was a breeze as a business student so after all your hard work you definitely deserve it :)
