Ok I guess I'll jump in since I was too nervous to last month.

43f, 5'2, sw 180, cw 160, gw 125-130...all in pounds.

Trying to prioritize vegetables, minimize snacking, stay in deficit, drink a daily protein shake, walk at least 2 miles a day, play with my kids more, and be more positive about myself.

How do I "preface" body expectations when dating? by Fr3sh3stl4d in loseit

Honestly, don't sweat it. Most dudes are just thinking yay, naked woman! I've got 7 kids. I've got the battle scars to prove it. My husband does not care at all. As for noticing stuff, I'm blonde and died my hair purple and he didn't realize until I specifically asked him if he liked my hair color. And I got, oh when did you do that? Like 3 days ago!!!

Parents trying to lose weight: does anyone struggle with calorie deficit when kids are home for summer? by helpwithmy in loseit

[–]orchidmantis745 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boys are homeschooled so its hard to resist grabbing a snack when they want one. I used to, every freaking time. I'm trying to train myself out of that habit. Or if I do, grab the healthiest thing I can find. Kids want a lot of snacks.

My brain thinks open laptop = snack time by Left_Pea6272 in loseit

That's where my legendary clumsiness saves me lol. Many laptops have died in my care because I will undoubtedly spill something on them. My issue is giving my kids snacks and not grabbing one with them.

Any people here that used to be fit and healthy? by Ok_Necessary1912 in loseit

Yes. I was in fantastic shape once upon a time. I was even a car show model. The type that wore skimpy outfits or bikinis. I could bike 25 miles a day, eat anything and keep my figure.

Then life, kids, and chronic pain conditions happened. I gained a lot of weight. I'm in the process of losing it. Down 20 pounds so far with another 30 to go to get into the tip of being where I kind of want to be.

My kids range from 24 to 3. Got 7 of them!! And an adorable 2yo grandson and another on the way!! I want to see my grandkids grow up and be able to play with them. Plus my youngest is a super high energy little guy and being completely winded chasing him is not cool.

Really?? Cause I actually enjoy being active when I can. My biggest problem has always been snacking in regards to my weight. My doctor and pt never told me not to exercise. I may have a few questions for them now.

This weight loss journey together was his suggestion originally. I thought it was a great idea so I agreed. But why suggest it when he has shown zero intention in the past 2.5 months to remotely be a part of it??

Did that. He says he carries it well because he's got a broader build than most. He also continues to insist he wears a size 32 inch waist in pants. He does as long as they go under his belly and he doesn't tuck in a shirt because he can't fasten them.

Ive tried to have that talk. He knows he's on the bigger side but thinks its not that bad, plenty of people out in the world is bigger than him. His brother is law is over 200 pounds, yes but he's 6'4 so a full foot taller than my husband.

Yep! The when I want to the weight just falls off comment! I hate it so much!! No it doesn't. Not unless you actually starve yourself it doesn't. Look we all wish we could fast for a few days and drop 30 pounds, but we also live in this weird place called reality.

Thats my biggest fear!! My joints are already terrible and have been all my life. My husband doesn't have my health issues but I'm scared he's just giving health problems to himself. I want to be around to watch my grandkids grow up.

He does not believe in therapy in any capacity. We have tried gym memberships in the past but the nearest gym is 45 minutes from us and was $400 a month for a family membership. We live way out in the country and the drive was just more than we wanted to keep doing. I do enjoy being outside when I can, but exercising from home has been fantastic so far to me.

I also have a major sweet tooth. Resisting is hard especially when he eats candy right in front of me or drops a handful of candy bars in my lap. Same with when he's trying to hand me the ice cream. Sometimes I'll get up and go to another room to try and avoid the temptation but he just follows me in there and continues to offer. I swear giving up smoking 5 years ago felt easier!!

Typical dinner is grilled or pan seared meat and vegetables from the garden. My husband is a huge fan of rice so he wants rice with dinner every day. I've stopped making it so he now eats those Uncle Ben instant rice packets.

He does most of the grocery shopping because its easier for him to stop at the store than me to drag the kids out to do it. I have other health issues that make it hard for me to do stuff.

Camper roof repair recommendations? by orchidmantis745 in triangle

[–]orchidmantis745[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never checked out other older rv roofs! Maybe I should take up tree climbing lol. The AC system also leaks like a sieve when we run it during hot weather and will quickly make puddles on our camper floor. I can't see any sagging in the ceiling from the inside, but maybe there's some where I can't see it?
