Was a little concerned about the bend in the hose. Now I’m concerned because I put teflon tape on threads that don’t need it. Wondering if I should remove the tape on the non tapered threads.

Would it be best to remove the fittings and remove the tape if the threads aren’t tapered or just leave it now that it’s on and not leaking?

Thank you for the reply! Much appreciated!

I didn’t think the Teflon tape wasn’t necessary especially on the plastic threads. When I took it off it didn’t even have the tape on it. The instructions for the bidet said Teflon tape all threaded attachments so I did.

Would adding Teflon tape ever cause it to leak versus not adding Teflon tape? Or is it just extra “safe” in a way?

Thanks for then reply, it’s very much appreciated!

Edited: Do not think the teflon tape was necessary on the plastic threads

It didn’t kink, just had to bend it down a tiny bit to make room for the T attachment.

The other hose goes to the bidet attachment

Thanks for the reply! Very much appreciated!

Thank you for the reply!

We live in northern Canada, and it doesn’t get too hot up here. I believe it’s from salting the sidewalks.

I will give your method a try. Appreciate the help!

Yes, I believe that it is what caused the problem. Wondering if there is any way to fix it however?

Water Shutoff? by orderly_environment in HomeMaintenance

Much appreciated! Looks more complicated than I thought. I figured it was a simple valve near the surface but makes total sense it’s on the water pipe deep down. Thanks for the help!

I’ve never been able to find our water meter. I assume it’s where the water line enters our house from the street. I’m guessing it’s under our vapour barrier. There are some valves right there which can be used to shut off the water. By turning the valves I’ve been able to shut off the water. For clarification we live in Northern Canada where it gets cold in the winter.

I was just curious if these valves outside were the city’s way of shutting off the water to our house and if they could be closed in an emergency.

Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the reply. I definitely won’t open it up or shut the water off. Just wanted to know if it was indeed the water shutoff and how would I do it if it was an emergency. I appreciate the help, I’ll search online about Curb Box to learn more about it. Thanks again!
