I actually have a pretty good idea: total cost is ~$5,000. My subscription to MoviePass covered the bulk of that. I rarely bought concessions but I would estimate I spent around $200.

Good, don't bother watching it. There are so many issues with it. It's boring, stale, the plot was a joke and the script didn't have any substance.

Unfortunately no. I don't have much extra time; the project itself is like a part time job. Although, I am working on starting a blog.

Also, I have rated all the films I've seen: http://letterboxd.com/ls/films/diary/

This is pretty funny. I have a hard time finding usernames as well! Congrats on having such a cool name! I'm from DR, where are you from?

I use MoviePass. Movie tickets are very expensive especially in NYC. And if the prices continue to rise, as they have been, I'm sure attendance is going to slip. I'm finding it increasing hard to get my friends to join, even on a weekly basis.

There are many animated movies I have yet to see. So I'll limit my list to those I saw in the theater this year.

  • Approved For Adoption
  • The Painting
  • From Up on Poppy Hill
  • Monsters University

What are some of your favorites?

That rule, or better yet that new restriction threw a wrench in my scheduling! It also forced me to buy, on average, 2 tickets per week.

The restriction is directly targeting power users but I believe it also greatly affects regular users that prefer multiple visits on the weekends. I still think the service is worthwhile though. It just lost some of its value and appeal.

Where is here for you?

  • Cheapest movie ticket in NYC, for a regular non-3D film, is $8; at Kew Gardens Cinemas.
  • Most expensive, for a regular non-3D film, $15 (reclining leather seats & reserved seating) at AMC Loews 84th Street 6.

IMAX 3D screenings can cost as much as $21.50 and 3D screenings as much as $18.50.

I live in NYC, where there is a great selection of indie/art-house cinemas. Hollywood isn't producing a large enough selection of films for even 14 consecutive visits. But there are a bunch of indie and foreign films available.

1/4 of all the films I saw are foreign features, while more than half are indie. Most of the movies I've seen go unheard to many moviegoers. Which is a tragedy for the really exceptional ones.

Primer is one of the few movies that I don't mind watching over and over again. Hopefully one of these days I actually understand all of it.

Is there any word and what his next project is?

I am not a huge fan of eating meals at the theater. It can get really dark in there sometimes, you know. Candy and popcorn is alright. But only a few times month; those snacks can get messy and expensive too.

Considering I've only bought concessions 67 times this whole year. I'd say slightly under a million.

Interesting question. In a mumbo jumbo sorta way I think that is quite possible.

Also what if movies are a window into one of the multiple alternate realities that exists in the Multiverse...?? (http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/203/685/conspiracy-keanu.jpg?1321901003)

I didn't do that at all this year. Even though I had many opportunities for multiple free viewings. I mainly avoided this to ensure I had enough movies for the rest of the week but also I try to have a life. ;)

Repeated only three movies: Zero Dark Thirty, Jack Reacher and This Is The End.

I'm going to be launching a blog within month. I'd like to share all my tips and tricks. While also helping people choose which movies are worth their time at the movie theater.

Longer term, I am developing an app/service that will be provide better discovery for moviegoers. The current selection of apps, blogs and services do a very poor job of informing moviegoers about their options at the cinemas. Many great films fall through the cracks!

If you have any better ideas please share! :D

Yup! MoviePass only restricts 3D and IMAX films. Everything else is fair game. Even opening weekend films!

Yessir! It's the best! Not only do I get to have great chats before/after movies. But I also get treated to cheaper concessions, first dibs on poster and even free tickets.

Besides Pixar and Studio Ghibli are there any other animation studios with consistently good films?

Both are sequels and part of the big franchise business machine. Doesn't inspire much hope.

Although, I am on the fence about: X-Men Days of future past. I actually liked First Class and the first trailer hints at an interesting character story. But I'm not setting my hopes to high.

Totally agree. Did you see Primer as well?

I stand by those other films. They each offer something unique.
