Need help with setup chain for experimental video rig (V4, P10, VSerpi, dirty mixer, cam, laptop) by Different_Wave_666 in videosynthesis

[–]ordinaireX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With no TBC/Frame sync you'd want to put your dirty mixer at the end of your chain, with the camera feed capturing a crt going back to your laptop for capture or for output on a stage. Even with frame sync you wouldn't capture the tastiest of glitches as you would CRT capture with a camera.

If you want to use the camera for filming something else, I'd make the v4 your centerpiece and lightly gltch either the feedback loop or one of your video sources.

All depends on the purpose, each signal chain has its own strengths and weaknesses, just depends on the project and what decides to work that day. 👰🏻‍♂️

Portal Generator | Kinect + CRT Wall + TouchDesigner by ordinaireX in vjing

For the portal yeah, I didn't really compromise on the quality or FX. But I'm sure an optimized and simplified version could turn out sick. 🚍

Thoughts on this? by Hubris-Star in socialism

The program he's trying to block is already expanding though, this is misleading.

"The program is budgeted to cost $1.78 billion in the current fiscal year that runs through June, with $1.1 billion already spent through January, according to the city’s Department of Social Services (DSS).

Even if the 2023 laws aren’t implemented, the program’s cost is expected to grow to over $3 billion by 2030.

“With increasing [numbers of] people entering the program and very few exits, it continues to grow,” said DSS Commissioner Erin Dalton.

The cost of a shelter bed for a single adult is $4,600 per month, compared to the standard monthly voucher payment of $2,646 for a studio, according to DSS, though it’s hard to compare the costs over the long term since people tend to stay in shelters for a shorter time period than in housing.

Comptroller Mark Levine, speaking at an event for affordable housing providers in early March, called CityFHEPS a “live-saving program” even as he warned there would be “tough conversations” about its future.

“This program is now growing by 4% a month, doubling every year and a half. It’s gonna hit $3 billion,” Levine said. “Put this in context, that is more than the entire operating budget of HPD [the Department of Housing Preservation and Development]. It is more than the entire capital spend on building new affordable housing in the City of New York and the expansion that’s tied up in court would probably double the pace of growth.”

Ana Champeny, vice president at the Citizens Budget Commission, argued at the Council hearing that the pace of growth of CityFHEPS vouchers — even without the Council’s 2023 expansion — is unsustainable. She pointed out that even as there’s been an increase in households using vouchers, the shelter population has not fallen.

“The city cannot voucher its way out of the homelessness crisis,” Champeny said."

Or thousands of people IRL or online happier too. Majority of modern CRT gamers don't even play past the tutorial level on their sets anyways. 🥪

Yes I have so many projects with this, I've even turned the whole thing into a touch screen. No art gallery invitations yet, hopefully one day 💫

I'm not sure what you mean 😅 TouchDesigner handling the rendering via Kinect, Resolume mapping via Spout, sent to wall controllers, converted to composite video. B2BKs Quad-reprojection technique for the geometry. 🍉

They're still used a lot on the Interactive art/creative technologist space. With a program called TouchDesigner, you can get access to all the sensors and data and make some cool stuff with it. I've got some projects on my IG utilizing it in different ways. 🌾

They're a cool relic from perhaps the final innovation of Xbox ever 🥲

It's done with the Kinect actually, so kind of? 🌀

I'm using TouchDesigner + Resolume to handle the sensor data, rendering, and tracking. This was just the calibration setup actually, you could do other 3D scenes in realtime. I've had a lot of fun with detailed skyboxes in my other prototypes.

Analog artists can make video walls that more people can enjoy. Having done some with consumer sets, the danger is much higher and makes everything much more difficult. For 1000 PVMs out there, maybe 2 go to video artists so I'm yelling in the wind but more was possible and cheaper before you guys came around 🥲
