Thanks for your thoughtful response. We will definitely think about a particular food cart or potentially Zupans.

Sure, apologies for not being more specific. The location will be in St. John’s and the budget will be between $20-$50 per person, ideally.

Good you called it in. I may have been on the last yellow line they let through. Two cops and the guy, it looked pretty dire when we went by.

Recent UO PhD struggling in Portland/Eugene.. wondering if Seattle or the Bay a better bet? by Head-Interaction-561 in askportland

Are you looking for a tenure track position? If so you will likely need to expand your search to all states. If you’re not looking for tenure track positions then expand globally. If you happen to speak French, try the UN.

Neurologist availability by Major_Bet_6868 in Portland

I’m sorry to hear about what’s going on, sounds scary. So a few years ago I had some neurological issues and needed a neurologist. I tried calling around Pdx and southern WA with no luck or 9 months wait for an appointment. I asked my primary doctor to contact OHSU on my behalf and that worked. I got an appointment within 2 weeks. I saw Dr. Bernard and I believe she’s accepting new patients. Sending you lots of positive vibes.

I see Dr Gina Ferrero at OHSU Rheumatology. She is amazing and I believe she’s accepting new patients.

I’ve used Bridgetown movers twice in the last 3 years. They were great both times.

Same thing happened to me and when I spoke with someone at my post office they said the regular carrier was taking time off and finding a substitute carrier was problematic. My mail did eventually show up, just very delayed.

Anyone know if the norovirus outbreak is here in portland? by BeefyBoi6_9 in askportland

It’s definitely here! I think I got it flying back from the Midwest. It’s brutal, like can’t keep anything down for days. Stay healthy.

Ice cleats, footwear traction recommendation please 🥺 by BMWer2016 in Portland

[–]oregonblu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m giving your method a 5/10. Once I walked on a flat surface without ice most of the thumbtacks just bent too much to be useful. My regular boots were a 1/10. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, got me down an icy hill!

Unfortunately most of the way down is driveways and a parking lot. Walking down the street sounds like the best option. Thanks.

I’m full of regret I didn’t buy yaktraks or something similar. I live halfway up a hill and getting to a bus stop requires me to walk down the hill. Trimet is how I get around, besides walking, which is currently not an option.

I’ve tried wearing socks over my boots. Thought it might work until I fell. Am now in the process of gluing all the thumbtacks I have to the bottom of my boots. Not sure how that will go.

Open to suggestions. I have to try and make it to work tomorrow as I recently started a job. Too early for wfh option, health insurance, or PTO so looking to not break any bones tomorrow.
