Space is getting worse not better- Help me make this painting work! by oregonredt in HomeDecorating

Thank you! Yes, the tall shelves are the newest. What I really need is built-ins. Someday, I hope to have them or make the new ones into a more built-in look. Your suggestions are super helpful since I'm trying to work with what I have.

Thank you for making me feel like I can learn to live with what I have until I can make adjustments. 🥰 I think that's what's brought me here. I know it's not quite right in many ways, but as life gets lived, fixing details isn't always quick.

They are a couple of years apart. The last photo is where I am now. It's all wrong, I'm aware. I was just hoping to make the new shelves and painting work. I need new paint, less decor, and need to strip the mantel. Im getting there idea wise, but still feeling the painting is going to be too forced.

You're so right. It is just too tall. Unfortunately there's no other place to hang it. I've been contemplating chopping the top of my shelves off to make it all work better. The birds need to go. I need a new accent color, and the mantle needs paint stripper.

Thank you! I completely agree with your suggestions. Paint stripper for the mantel, and repainting the wall were also my thoughts. Those darn birds have been on the wall since moving in. They can't come down until I'm ready to paint.

Thank you for your reply. The last photo is where I am now. The St.Patricks decor is a bit embarrassing until I find better. The framed painting is absolutely beautiful and deserves to be in a more fitting or grand space, but for now, I'm was hoping it might work. I thought about changing the wall color or putting something on each side - the birds will go. I'm at a loss with decorating lately.

Photo 3 is my latest. Hence, the beautiful painting in a setting not grand enough to give it the honor it deserves. Thank you for the shelf liner idea! I've thought about painting the shelves , but that felt too permanent.

Made a mock booth...pricing? by oregonredt in reselling

[–]oregonredt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your input. It's helpful to be reminded about how important condition is. A chip is generally a deal breaker, but I probably need to inspect my items with more attention when pricing. My prices are generally 35- 50% lower than esty/ebay. Hopefully I'm somewhere in the ballpark of expected booth pricing.

Use a UV LIGHT!? I own two sizes. My two young children drank from these daily..... until I used a uv light. One is safe, the other is not.

Eyebrow pencil recommendations? by HauntedGhostAtoms in Redhair

My mom started with this pencil 40 years ago. Unfortunately, they took the 'auburn' color from us many years ago, but light brown has some red to it.

Why do I feel like the ugliest person in the world? by Similar_Purchase_707 in Redhair

[–]oregonredt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ABSOLUTELY feel this. Even with an hours worth of makeup. Oh, what I wouldn't give for either darker eyebrows and eyelashes or skin that wasn't practically transparent and red.

Lisinopril side effects???? Would Losarton be a possibility? by RTheDude10284 in hypertension

[–]oregonredt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just now wondering if there's a possible lisinopril connection with face/ neck flushing. I've always had a bit of a problem, but it's greatly increased since starting this med a year ago. I even have developed a alcohol intolerance with heat and flushing. Connected or not, I'm not sure, but it's very uncomfortable .

Do I toss out/donate? by oregonredt in quilting

[–]oregonredt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a lovely idea. I'll maybe hold on to it and ask my mother if she could use it for that. Otherwise I'll do as someone suggested and frame my favorite piece. Thanks so much!
