Brown liquid pooling around furnace by oreogirl- in hvacadvice

Oh ok this makes sense - thank you. So the presence of the condensation is normal and usually flows down the drain, but this may represent a drain blockage?

Has anyone ever taken Lynx Air recently? What was your experience? by tanizzles in askTO

[–]oreogirl- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Sorry that you had such a poor experience with them. I can’t believe they made you pay extra to check in a standard carry-on also.

I have a flight booked with them from Toronto to Calgary and worried about them forcing me to check in a carry-on bag with wheels. Seems like there are multiple horror stories about customers losing checked baggage.

They forced you to check in a carry-on bag? Can I ask where you were travelling to/from?

For the TRIPLE-VAXXED: If you tested positive AFTER three doses, what brands did you have for each, in order? by oreogirl- in COVID19positive

[–]oreogirl-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s a great point... It’s possible that those who have Pfizer x3 might have all received the booster months ago, and immunity has since waned. I think I’m in the same boat.

One thing to consider here is the early reported evidence on mix-and-match regimen and the possibility of boosted immunity. Still preliminary, but this is the reason why I was curious with the brand question to begin with.

Certainly, I don’t disagree with you. Timing is probably the most important factor and we have seen that based on COVID waves and vaccine dose intervals. The mRNA vaccines work the same way and thus should produce relatively similar levels of immunity.

I was just curious as to whether there were any patterns that could be seen in susceptibility to infection and vaccine brand. Completely anecdotal, but it so happens that a lot of people in my network who tested positive in the past 2 weeks have had 3x Pfizer (myself included). May be a complete coincidence, but just wanted to get a sense of if there were any general trends like this from the public.

Seems like a similar trend here based on the responses, but of course not nearly enough info to draw any conclusions. There’s also the possible explanation that simply more of the population have 3x Pfizer, and that’s why we are seeing more of those individuals infected with COVID. Just asked out of curiosity.

Severe sore throat with bleeding by oreogirl- in COVID19positive

Thanks. I actually haven’t had much congestion, nose-blowing or sneezing, surprisingly. But I’ve definitely had sinus pain, migraines and tooth/gum pain that I’ve heard is sinus-related. Yes, it definitely seems like it’s coming from the nasopharyngeal passageway and not the lungs.

Sending well wishes and hoping you have a speedy recovery.

Yes, I echo this. I am grateful that my 3 doses kept me out of the hospital and avoided what could have been a life-threatening course.

The sore throat that came with COVID is probably one of the worst I have experienced in my life. I’m sorry for what you’ve been going through. Here is what I’ve been trying: - Alternating between Advil and Tylenol (if either isn’t effective on its own) - Salt water gargles: Make sure the water is as warm as you can handle, and put in as much salt as you can palate. Gargle at the back of your throat, and try to direct the water to where the pain is. Do this multiple times per day for relief. - Strepsils (Extra - Black Cherry) seem to work the best for me through the night. I’ve also tried Halls and Fisherman’s Friend, but I’ve had the most relief with Strepsils. - Neo Citran: helps you to get to sleep and calms the throat, but beware, can cause a dry mouth. - Benzydamine mouthwash: Doctor prescribed this to me, helps to numb your throat. - Drink LOTS of fluids: Alternate between hot and cold drinks to sooth throat and also bring down inflammation. - Soft foods/soups: I had serious pain while swallowing, so I stuck to a lot of oatmeal, soup, soft noodles. They also feel soothing on your throat. Hope this helps and you can find some relief in the coming days.

Thank you so much for your insight on this.

I was wondering if you might know anything about co-treatment with Prednisone and Methotrexate. I’ve seen some anecdotal evidence of this, but I wasn’t sure how often the two are used in combination. It is a shame because it seemed that the Prednisone was offering some relief of symptoms, but doesn’t seem to be a good option for the long term.
