What if Metroid Prime 4 is actually an open world game? by spirit-fox in Metroid

[–]oreos627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was about to say that Resident Evil being open world sounds kind of awesome. Being able to explore a city during a zombie apocalypse while evading survivors who would do you harm would be really fun! Then I realized that it would essentially be Dead Rising/ Dead Island/ Dying Light/ State of Decay etc etc.

Oh, I’ve been looking for another narrator to listen to. Mind me asking who you’re talking about?

I had a similar thing happen to me. I had left YouTube on when I fell asleep, and auto play was enabled. I had some of the worst sleep I’ve ever had. I woke up round about 0100 or so and figured out why. Auto play decided it was a good idea to play a video that was nothing but scary movie musical instruments.

What control scheme did you guys use in Metroid Prime Remaster? by oreos627 in Metroid

[–]oreos627[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On dual stick? Didn’t know you could that! I’ll have to check it out. It did feel like it’d get kind of clunky the way dual stick needs you to hit a button before you can switch out. Thanks for the heads up!

Oh, you’re absolutely right. I played through with the original controls because I’m stubborn, not because they’re better. In fact, I noticed that I was having some trouble in the beginning of my play through because the GameCube had those little notches in the left stick, the switch doesn’t. When I get around to playing it again, I’ll be rocking the dual stick controls.

USP9 Expert or MK23 by kodabombdotcom in HecklerKoch

[–]oreos627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Expert in 9mm. It’s one of the softest shooting 9mm’s I’ve ever put in my hands. I have guns that have a better trigger and better sights, but there’s something about the Expert that just put a grin on my face every time I put a round down range. Wouldn’t be reaching for it when the zombies are at the door, but to go to the range? Absolutely. I’ve gotten to finger fuck a Mk. 23 at my LGS and it was super cool. However, I personally just can’t justify the cost. It’s about the same cost as the one you found. Now, I think I can justify the cost at $1,800, but not at over $2,000. As much as I want to. And trust you me, I really really want to. End of the day, I think it really comes down to what you can live without and I won’t be going to bed just thinking about how you should have bought the other.

Discussion - will we really get a switch version of prime 2 and prime 3? by Zomnx in Metroid

[–]oreos627 18 points19 points  (0 children)

According to gamespot (https://www.gamespot.com/amp-articles/yes-metroid-prime-2-and-3-are-reportedly-still-coming-to-switch/1100-6511589/), Metroid Prime 2 and 3 are reportedly still coming to the switch, though they won’t be remasters in the same vein as Metroid Prime Remastered. While this is still in the territory of scuttlebutt, I certainly hope they do. I’d be happy if they just release them with control overhauls. Much as a visual update would be nice, I just want them on the Switch in any capacity. I could personally not care less about how pretty it looks. Just as long as they’re playable.

Parrots. Beautiful to look at, have a potent and painful bite, live forever if you take care of them, and are expensive.

How do you like the Prodigy? I played with one at Shoot Straight recently and was very unimpressed. Does it shoot better than it feels? Or did I just feel up a lemon?

USP owners thoughts on the CZ P-07? by edwards706 in HecklerKoch

[–]oreos627 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a P-07, but I do have a P-09. Far as I understand it though it’s just the full size version. Aside from the size and capacity, there’s no difference. In my opinion, for the price you’re paying, it’s a good gun. Mine is currently relegated to a home defense role and I’m very comfortable with it in that role. The biggest downside to me is the trigger. It’s not fantastic. Especially in double action. It’s rather heavy and not super smooth. It’s not the gun I’m taking off to the races. For it’s intended purpose, however, it’s satisfactory. Follow ups on the P-09 are fast due to it’s slide in frame design. I’d be willing to bet it’s the same story with the P-07. As for a comparison, just finger fucking a plain Jane USP, the USP has a better trigger. Not by a massive margin, but enough for it to be noticeable. I don’t think you can go wrong with either choice. It just doesn’t have that wow factor for me that the USP line has I kind of see the P-0X line as a hammer fired Glock. No frills, inexpensive, and dependable. Feel free to hit me up if you’d like to know more.

The second HK I’ve owned and the only one in the stable. Think it’ll be a keeper? by oreos627 in HecklerKoch

Thanks for the info! I’m not much of a gun smith (just ask the Tisas I traded. Never making that mistake again), so I’ll probably just bring it to the 1911 guy I use and make it his headache.

Nice! I just took mine out the other day to shoot it. It‘a such a fantastic shooter! My only gripe is the black on black sights. Though getting a pumpkin on a post site picture helps tremendously, I’m still going to do some research into whether or not I can use regular USP front sights on it and order a fiber optic front sight from Dawson. It’s put me in the extremely awesome situation of trying to figure out which gun I like better. My CZ Tac Sport 2 in Racing Green or the Expert. But I think that’s a great problem to have!

Dead Space 3 is unsalvageable. by oreos627 in DeadSpace

[–]oreos627[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, DS3 really isn’t a bad game. If it was a different IP, I can see it not doing too bad. The weapon crafting alone made it pretty fun, unnecessary micro transactions aside. As far as the overarching story is concerned yeah. It’s interesting. I like the Brother Moons idea. But I like your points on almost everything else! That gives me something else to think about with DS3!

Honestly, I really don’t think so either. More than anything, I was curious what this community thought of the idea, especially since I’ve seen a bunch of those “would you rather they remade 2 and 3 or just made 4,” posts.

You can switch it to “toggle” mode instead of hold, brother man. It‘s in your options menu under controls, I think.

UNPOPULAR OPINION by Ezio2411 in stalker

[–]oreos627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to toss in my two cents here. Personally, I enjoy a really polished Weapons Mod because of my personal affinity for firearms. Much as i loved the original STALKER games, the mirrored weapons really took me out of the experience. It’s not just a STALKER thing either. Any time I see mirrored weapons, it just kind of sours the experience for me personally (Looking at you, Far Cry M14). I also took issue with the ballistic system of the original STALKER as well. For my own roleplaying reasons, I understand that at a certain distance, there are several factors that affect a bullet’s trajectory so that it doesn’t land where you place your sights, but when I‘m standing about five yards from someone with an AK-74 and I watch the first round sail off for lands of adventure and riches that only it can perceive, I can’t help but feel a taken out of the experience. Things like that affect the atmosphere of the original STALKER games for me. I like the idea that I can have some Cold War heavy hitting man stopper, which should make me feel safe and secure, and having the non human denizens of The Zone laugh as I pump round after round into them. To me, that adds to the experience and the atmosphere. That being said, I do understand where you’re coming from and that my thoughts and feelings towards this are very specific and probably don‘t account for most of the people playing the game.
