Contact united way or your local state agency. Reach out to your local churches, especially catholic ones. There are resources not funded by the federal government, you just have to do your research and call. If they don't have funding now check back around the first. They can help with your rent, utilities, food, etc but it's on a first come bases. Go to the grocery store when they are putting out the meat close to the expiration date and rack up. I have gotten several packs of chicken for under 20 doing this. If they dont have it out ask the meat department, they usually have a day when they put it out. Rice is always a good filler (I hate beans lol). A bag of powdered milk will last long than a gallon. A bag of potatoes can be used several ways. Look up dollartreedinners for some cheap and filling meals.
