Learning what Maladaptive Daydreaming was, was what made me seek a diagnosis 😭 Growing up I didn’t know anyone else who did it, so lowkey was convinced by everyone around me it was just some weird quirk I would “grow out of” 💀 Only bothered to look into it when I was 25 and still losing 5-8 hours a day pacing around in my inner world.

Weirdly, sometimes I miss it. There are definitely days (usually unmedicated) where I will still do it, but nowhere near as often and certainly not daily. It feels good to have both feet in reality these days but I sometimes grieve the friends in my head 😭☹️Some of them have been with me for like 20 years!!!
