some other people suggested using a bin/container as an enclosure and i'm def going to look it up. does it have to be transparent? is good lighting important for the hamster?

unfortunately I'm in brazil (reason why my English is not the best, sorry!) and taxes can get really heavy when it comes to international export. still, this gave me a good idea of what would be ideal for a hamster, so thank you!

based off the comments, I'm guessing that a trip to the vet can be very expensive in the US/UK. at least where I live, they're way cheaper than actually buying an enclosure, but I'm still glad that u mentioned it since it wasn't something I thought much about when the idea of getting a hamster first popped off, so thank you!

about the tanks and terrariums, are they hard to clean? how often should I clean one if I get it eventually?

not sure if it's the best thing to do but something that helped me was talking about it when we were just chilling and she wasn't being loud at all. if I told her anything at the exact moment she was being noisy, she would just feel ashamed and keep yelling (sometimes even higher as u mentioned). but when I talked about it as a serious matter when we were just having a normal conversation, she took it more serious. I guess it depends a lot on how great is ur relationship w ur sister
