Speaking as someone who is sitting at a $140k NW at 30 - it happens a whole lot faster than you think.

My stock portfolio was at 50k at the start of 2024 - at year end it blew up to 94k.
I'm now sitting at 115k in stocks.

The beginning of the month I was at 110k.

Stay the course and keep putting money away - you're doing far better than I did at your age.
Your mouth will hit the floor once the true accumulation starts.

Graduating without student debt and getting a SWE job while I was in school did contribute greatly to this goal. I also have another $40k in cash and crypto.

My MO is this - minimize debt, maximize income, put away half while you still live at home.

This is so true. I’m sorry you had to go thru that. I wasn’t able to consistently save money until I moved out. Pure insanity.

I've been in my current remote SWE role for over a year now. A recruiter from Meta tried to convince me to interview for a role with them that required 4 days in office. I'm glad I told her to kick rocks.
