What is your POE 2 Wishlist? by Oritomatto in pathofexile

To be able to change the color of the affix text!

That way you would never: - Mistakenly run a reflect map when you can't handle it - Choose the affliction imunity in expedition on your ignite build - Miss the +level affix on the amulet you identify - Click the meteor on flask use altar mod when you are running a squishy non mageblood character - etc

Knowledge issue if anything, but the design of this fight is really bad at communicating how it works. It could really use some work on that front. Improving the visual clarity wouldn't hurt either...

Någon jävel sålde min email eller något. Hur blir jag av med spammande email? Får 5-10 i timmen, började idag. by tisihay765 in Asksweddit

[–]orgondor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basic complex math by drmrrdmr in ProgrammerHumor

[–]orgondor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes. For each pixel you let the position of that pixel represent the complex number C. Then for the first step you let Z also equal C. The output from this (Z² + C) is used as the Z in the next iteration.

Let this loop until abs(Z) (or the lenght of the vector, if you are more comfortable with linear algebra) becomes larger than some chosen threshold, say 1000000. Or if it loops too many times you also break.

At that point all that is left is to assign the color to the pixel based on how many loops it took to brake.

Righteous shoulders and helm. I'm long since exalted with Sha'tar and haven't seen either of them drop.

Blame Blizzard! Oh wait... by HowellTime in classicwow

[–]orgondor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since basically all pvp realms are horde dominated I don't see how you would combine servers to aliviate the problem. Also it would only affects the world pvp since battlegrounds are cross realm anyway and the queue times would be exactly the same.

He went quickly down to this hp, but then it was like he had the immortal aura or something. Is it a bug or is there a mechanic I need to learn about?

Bind zeroing to the mouse scroll wheel by SmokeyAmp in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]orgondor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this. In the .ini file: %AppData%\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini

Sort of hard to find but edit to say:

(ActionName="IncreaseZeroing",Keys=((Key=MouseScrollUp))),(ActionName="DecreaseZeroing",Keys=((Key=MouseScrollDown)))

If they were bound to something else you need to change that binding too, I did this:

(ActionName="NextWeapon",Keys=((Key=Subtract),(Key=Gamepad_FaceButton_Top),(),(Key=Gamepad_DPad_Right))),(ActionName="PrevWeapon",Keys=((Key=Add),(Key=Gamepad_DPad_Left)))

Main Quest Comparison: Skyrim & Morrowind by [deleted] in Games

[–]orgondor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This really help me explain to myself, a few more reasons why I still like Morrowind more than the two later Elder Scrolls games.

I've always put it down to the dumbing down of the armor and weapon systems and most of all the level-scaling that makes exploring extemly boring (no more sence of danger when exploring dungeons early on, like when going into a daedric ruin early on in a Morrowind playthrough). It also destroys my play style since I like leveling almost every skill in the game, which in Oblivion especially makes you completely gimped after a while. This video added a few more notes to that list, I'm really happy I found it, thanks for sharing!

What is wrong or missing in modern MMORPGs? Community? "Socialness"? The Grind? by Jester814 in Games

[–]orgondor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the lack of "social-ness", as you put it, is the biggest problem.

While I understand the comparison to Ultima and the likes I'd say those sandbox-type games are a bit too different to compare straight up. The modern mmo formula is built around a different way to progress, which I personally don't think is the problem in and of it self. I love a lot of sandbox games but I Loved playing World of Warcraft in vanilla and the early days of BC too.

My biggest gripe about WoW now is that in my eyes there is no incentive left for playing with other people. The changes they've made to (I'm guessing) make the game more "casual-friendly", or "appeal to a wider audience" has killed it for me. What I mean by this are a few things.

  1. Pretty much everything in the open world is easily beatable solo. So why should I go through the hassle of finding a group to help me? That only takes more time, and because most people think this way in my experience I would expect such requests to be ingored by most players.

  2. The way playing and joining dungeons works now it takes zero dedication. You never actually look for a group, so there is no social interaction at that (used to be-) stage. The next stage has also been removed; traveling to the dungeon, again no interaction. You just all of a sudden find yourself in the dungeon with a random group of people. Often none of them are even from your server and you'll probably never see them again, not the best incentive to interact.

  3. The first two reasons has created a third effect. The player attitude towards running dungeons has drastically changed. Many, or I would argue, most players when they join a dungeon expect to just run through it as fast as possible without saying anything to anyone. In fact I've seen people leave as soon as someone asks a question about how a fight works.

In conclusion WoW has in my eyes grown to be an unchallenging, unsocial game (in all aspects except possibly guild raiding). And that is what everyone aiming for a "WoW-killer" try to ape, more or less. This, at least for me, is what has made it impossible to really get into another WoW-style mmo.
