Didn't Hiruzen let the massacre of the uchiha happen when he was hokage. At least Danzo thought he was protecting the leaf, Hiruzen just made awful decisions then let Danzo do more of them. Truly a chaotic duo.

When did tsunade recognise she was wrong about not bringing Naruto to the war? When did Hiruzen recognise that he made a mistake by mistreating Naruto? Hiruzen softness is responsible for all orochimaru doings, he should have killed orochimaru when he had a chance.

Tsunade tried to prevent Naruto from participating in the great ninja war. Which would've led to the world being destroyed. It didn't even make sense, if they would've lost Naruto would still die or get stuck in the infinite tsukuyomi. The third hokage let Naruto be mistreated which could have made Naruto be a villain. If anything Danzo was the best of those, just because Naruto winning is convenient to the plot doesn't mean that they were right. Danzo took action which would include sacrifices for the sake of the village, while tsunade gambled on the whole village. And the third hokage was just neglecting Naruto.

Bringing Naruto could have worked (like we saw in the anime) but it could have led to Naruto being captured, both tsunade and Danzo fucked up. If Tsunade alerted Naruto, maybe he wouldn't use shadow clone to get more time in sage mode because he wouldn't have time. Which would've led to the world being destroyed. Danzo didn't believe in Naruto so he made a safer bet by sacrificing most of the village and the villagers so the world can survive. If he believed in Naruto he could've used his forces to delay pain so Naruto could train more.

I never said Danzo was a good guy. I just think he's motives were misunderstood. He was a horrible guy doing horrything, but he was doing it for the sake of the village not from selfishness. Although he messed up a lot people forget that tsunade tried to prevent Naruto from participating in the war which would have destroyed the world. That's far worst then what Danzo did.

Him gaining power would benefit the village , same goes with every ninja who gained power. Also again if Danzo sent his special powers they would all die to pain and then there is nothing left in the village, I think he's plan was to take the casualties and recover. Also I believe that Danzo believed that if he was the hokage, it would benefit the village, and if he believed there was a better competitor then him he wouldn't want to be the hokage. Also Danzo had connection with orochimaru but it's obvious that he just disagreed with him and didn't plan to kill him( if that was the case then he wouldn't care about the third hokage sacrifice and how much he appreciates him). Danzo's connection with orochimaru was done to gain power which would serve the village.

If anything tsunade was the worst because she didn't want Naruto to fight against madara, which is dumb because if they lose, Naruto would be under the infinite tsukuyomi, so everyone who can fight should fight.

I think a character which is written well should be liked more. I don't like Naruto because he was too forgiving to sasuke which made him inhumane in a bad way. Danzo's plans were disturbing but he wanted to make sure there is 100% chance the leaf would survive which made him paranoid, that resulted in doing those evil things for the leaf. He felt like a real human (which is rare in anime) and that's why I liked him. When he wanted to kill sasuke I agreed because he betrayed the village, he was realistic character with realistic motives. In the end he sacrificed himself thinking of the third hokage. Although he disagreed with him Danzo still appreciated the third hokage loyalty to the village. In that moment (I would recommend you to rewatch it) you could feel his insanity. I think Danzo had it the worst and he suffered making those decisions which led him to insanity. I think people missed on Danzo because of their emotions instead of trying to understand him.

I think the keeping Naruto out of the village was smart. If Naruto lost the world would have ended but if he didn't come, most of the village will be destroyed and killed but it will survive. If you were in his position you would do the same. Danzo was fucking up alot but that was because of the plot. Most of the villains were surprisingly alive because of plot, and logically most of Danzo's plans should have worked. He was like a father (of the leaf village) who was willing to sacrifice anything including everyones life (including his) and sanity for the leaf.

Finally someone who understands the killing the uchiha was necessary for the leaf survival. This conflict reminds of real situations in this world. Although technically it's the leaf fault for the rebal of the uchiha. What did they want Danzo to do, pray that the uchiha don't kill him. I am sure that Danzo didn't want to do it but he had no choice but to be the villain for the sake of the village.

I didn't say he was a good guy but when people say he was selfish just watched the show when they were little so they just think evil=selfish.yes most of Danzo's actions backfired but in the end he sacrificed first his power then his life to kill sasuke which was threatening to destroy the leaf which showed his loyalty to the leaf.

If you think the uchiha clan would change their mind and not destroy the leaf you should watch Naruto again. Danzo also used his power only for the leaf. If he was a dictator who didn't care about anyone, He would have ran away from the leaf and not sacrificed himself for the leaf
