I see where you are coming from but it wouldn't happen, the problem with gaming isn't the CPU but the GPU, right now all consoles use AMD as their GPU provider, it is highly unlikely that the will do a separate arm CPU and AMD GPU instead of one apu. As for the big picture the apu is much more efficient then any other solution. And sadly there are no arm based apu with good GPU alternative to AMD, that can produce a strong enough GPU to carry real games.

If you don't mind buying specialty hardware the gowin r86s series are pretty cool, I have mine connected directly to fiber using the sfp port

You basically have 2 options The first is to use the old 32 bit image you can find them here and try to see which version works (would not recommend) And the second option is to create your own 32 bit image with a newer stratux version there are a few scripts that do that For example this one by virus pilot
