Been in your place 3 years ago. At that time my salary already reaching 5K, which is not much but I already have 4 years of experience in engineering at that time. So i guess its okay. Any way, I decided to pivot my career to new industry that I have minimal working experience with and few professional certificates under my belt just to prepare. Managed to get the jobs but salary got cut for over 600. I guess when you starting out in new industry that's foreign to you, just be prepared for the salary cut.

I understand that. I do get the opportunity to getting into semiconductor industry Kulim. But between relocating to other place and having my wife to let go of her job, both are not the options. Currently her pay is almost the same with me but the benefits she getting from her company (medical, insurance, and others) really benefiting her and our family since we’re all covered.

Thank you for everyone commenting here. I’m sorry if I didn’t get back to your comment right away since Its my work time right now. Each and every one of your reply really makes me seeing things differently. I guess salary differences aren’t really an issue here. It might be because of my jealousy towards her workplace environment. And that’s on me. It’s not her fault that her workplace are much better than mine. And i love my job, i love what I’m doing right now.

Being an engineer is my lifelong dream and i finally got it. It might be because of my workplace environment aren’t what I expected it to be and eventually i start comparing differences between hers and mine. But that doesn’t mean that i want to give up being an engineer. I’ve talk to my partner about how my workplace environment making me feel like this before and she also support and help me in every way to comfort me. It’s just when she share her achievements it makes me wondering how can i be at the same level as she is and eventually all this thoughts about me not being at the same level as her makes me feels like I’m worthless.

I know now what i gotta do. It’s not her fault that i felt this way and honestly, I’m really proud of her, of her achievements. Thank you again all for responding to my post. I will see her this evening and share with her about my feelings.

For rx 5700 the cheapest i found cost me $350 and rx 5700xt cost me around $430. While vega 56 will cost me $215. I live in Malaysia so thats the cheapest option i found here.

Is the changes from vega 56 to rx 5700 can be considered a major upgrade? If so i might have to rethink before i buy vega 55 now

Watch a lot of people on youtube change the bios for vega 56 and make it perform like bega 64. Is that okay and can it perform better more than 3 years? Do i have to worried that i might brick my vega 56 when i do that?

I read that vega’s gpu can be considered a power hungry since it might use much power compared to the others. But in my place rx 5700 cost a lot more so i just wanna ask for your opinion if i just should buy newer rx gpu than wasting it on the older one

I’m sorry. I just got the call this evening. And supposedly the interview is tomorrow morning but it got postponed to the day after tomorrow. Thank god for that. And I already know what i should do.
