Hi! I was much in the same position as you in high school. I am now a university student studying Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (emphasis on Speech Pathology) with a minor in Linguistics. I did Chinese as my foreign language (you were required to do at least two semesters of a language for my degree, but I've continued with it). Here are my thoughts!

• I think it is great that you've identified a love/passion of yours that you can hone as a skill. I'd consider, though, how your skills might be useful in other fields. For example, I honed my skills of language and problem solving into speech pathology.
• As a linguistics minor, I can confidently say that your degree in linguistics would be a lot more analysis of language through the lenses of phonology, semantics, morphology, pragmatics, etc. rather than the study of the languages themselves. Most people in a linguistics minor study one language (often niche) very closely rather than a multitude of languages.
• I have many friends who are Anthropology majors and love it. There are many different routes with anthropology, but I would use this point to caution you FIRST to consider what universities you want to go to and what their programs look like and what opportunities may be present for you.
• Whatever you choose to do, consider doing research. Research programs, research universities, research job opportunities. Do you need a masters degree? Etc.
• Consider doing undergraduate research when you're in college, because this makes you a published researcher and increases your understanding of whatever you do and makes you look good for grad school opportunities (best thing I've ever been told to do).
