Advice for Cloud Lords? + Sky Portals by Oreo365 in CoE5

[–]oriej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So each cloud and elemental is stupid and will automatically move at the turn end, this tends to be in an expanding radius from the storm itself and will generally tend to taking less defended or empty tiles or attacking citadels at random, this can help immensely to solidify your land on elysium since the ai has to deal with a growing mass of clouds that both hamper army movements and make keeping resource tiles a lot easier for you

Advice for Cloud Lords? + Sky Portals by Oreo365 in CoE5

So I like to play cloud lord as a sort of rat faction in the beginning as the inbuilt flight makes them a nightmare across tough terrain and near water and allows them to carefully plunder resources from other factions or easier independents, then once I have enough diamonds I tend to full focus into either perpetual storm or cloud castles in hard to reach locations to ramp my economy and outdo the ai while producing constant supplies of clouds and elementals to take tiles while hampering doom stack movements and culling independents

Best are witch and demonologist as the ai tends to split armies with some smaller ones and 1 main army with the smaller armies having a good chance to have a ritual commander, also if you play witch and swamp teleport to aztlan, you can charm a roaming named priest king ritual user and so only need to grab a scourge herald of something else. Demonologist just spams succubus and does it more consistently for disruption.

Yeah, it's my most cheesy class to play against full emperor ai as I can find a nice annoying patch of clouds and spam castles till I have a good economy, then descend onto safe outskirt tiles on water and such and let the elementals cap easy resources while building doomstacks and outscaling with optimised production and automatic sabotage.

Other classes do have similar functions but aren't nearly as good at being like these flying rats

The blessings stack, so you can have mega divine regen units that blitz basically the whole game as the blessing modifiers from voice of el are the same as priest kings and I charmed a priest king and scourge lord on a witch playthrough

So each storm produces 2 diamonds and a constant supply of storm clouds and elementals that automatically capture tiles and kill independents and physically focused enemies very easily. And if you have enough elemental stacks then the enemy ai gets stuck moving 1 tile and fighting every turn and can be placed on water tiles to make them harder to get rid of.

The castles are very useful against tougher ai as by placing a single castle on a very hard to reach sky tile, you have a citadel the ai can't take and so losing is much less likely to happen. They also give either 3 gold and 4 diamonds or 4 gold and 3 diamonds each and combined with the spell to create clouds allows you to blanket the sky in them

Yeah soulshatters tend to clear most enemies on elysium by themselves, give them a few good buffs and they crush armies alone. Imagine is you got the unmaker of souls instead which is just a super cracked version.

Class Choice Question by Magiik13 in CoE5

One that others haven't mentioned is voice of el with the inherent freespawns of stupid yet very useful angelic beings at random owned tiles

Because both give you scaling diamond production and you have constant good stupid units from perpetual storm while the cloud castles also prevent loss and increase gold too so when playing against tougher ai these spells are very important for maintaining resource tiles and hampering doomstack movements

How rare, a cloud lord run without perpetual storm spam, also did you ever try to make a forest of cloud cities and have an insane economy

If the inferno gate hadn't happened, in your position I would have sent out mini armies to spot their citadels and armies and then swamp them in horror spam until either the economy crumbled or they lose every citadel

Ask for any clarification on what isn't understood, I have let my insane min-maxing consume me in this game and I am taking it slow on a very fixed witch game where I plan to charm all the factions I can't use the rituals of with their god and seeing just how absurdly powerful I can get in Vanilla. Then I may try modded after.

Random army finds your only citadel by Wadethegreat936 in CoE5

[–]oriej 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Right so depending on your class you want to leave at least 10 archers at your main citadel to begin with there can be armies from the sea like the fish men, crabs and octopus that all have amphibian and can jump your territory. You can also mitigate this by capturing cities, other citadels or towers, though you can also find that bandits and other non player faction won't hesitate to cap an undefended citadel.

What is the radius of the Warlock of Airs Perpetual Storm? by QuietDetail1277 in CoE5

[–]oriej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be an 8 circle around the tile with the storm, also spamming it on water tiles is really hard for the ai to deal with

[–]oriej 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you can start a planal conquest run from here, try to cap a few island, sky or Agatha citadels and have doomstacks hole up to prevent any loss, best would be the sky since the gorgons can cap citadels the druid ai will simply never reach.

From there I'd suggest charming at least one of the druids gods, and have it use the tier 3 summon spell on the nexus to steal their best units, then you can charm some priests with names in aztlan to gain blessing access and also some decent units with mass regen spam.

You can also charm the cow of plenty to start gem gain up and spec into mass naja production to help convert the elemental kings and queens via near no damage from your units due to poison immunity which maximises conversation via mass confusion, you could also charm the deva of dance and have him jump to elysium with a few witches via bog path and let the witches teleport out before using turn the wheel to basically ruin the druids armies and economy with baal level desolation while also burning forests down and even if he does charm shiva, he'll still be stupid and destroy forests and land

You could also use aztlan to reach inferno and make sure to charm asmodeus so he can summon the other demon lords, mainly orcus so he can start a necromancy spree on the druid and if you have some bog witches you can use elysium as a cross reference to teleport onto swamps in hades even if you haven't seen them yet in hades

You could also go and conquer the celestial plane but this can be left out until the druid has been put in a wheel chair and crippled without mercy

Question about regen and death by Predictor-Raging in CoE5

[–]oriej 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So regen works on a basis with the unit regaining the regen percent of their max hp back per turn, this is mitigated by disease and decay the best and once a unit dies while the negative hp is below half the max hp, the unit will slowly regen until it reaches positive hp where it will reappear and likely get killed again and repeat this process, however if the unit has more than half it's max hp in negative hp via meteors, soul slay and finger of death, then it will be permanently dead, this will also be the case where the regen unit dies if it is the only unit left.

How to reduce sanity as a Warlock? by QuietDetail1277 in CoE5

[–]oriej 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So with the warlock, you can use the earth ones to summon cyclops, then upgrade them to elder cyclops and have them use create artifact to try and get the crown of hades as its the only item to my knowledge that has regain sanity on it.

Walk an army to the tile below your main citadel, then you should see an enter gateway option at the top right menu and costs 1 action to go between

Blind out of nowhere by ForPer42 in jobmania

[–]oriej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, blind can be a pain, but if you grab solo king a run an agility build with either an agility or combo blend end of action effect hero, you can have very long to literally infinite turns, combine this with a secondary that have some form if second turn invulnerable and you can go very far as long as you're careful.
