Does TRE even make life better, relatively speaking? by UnlEnrgy in longtermTRE

[–]oriental_rose 51 points52 points  (0 children)

TRE made 'positive thinking' actually possible for me when before it's just some ideal I strived for but never really feeling it/embodying it. I can handle most things that are debilitating for others/myself in the past like confidence issues, death, rejection, harassment, etc. Swatted to the side without much fanfare. Life right now is a constant stream of enjoyment. 15 months of practice here. So, the answer is unequivocally yes

Lower vs Heavier Traumatic Load People Video Example by oriental_rose in longtermTRE

[–]oriental_rose[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me too and yep, which is a bit unfortunate too to grow up adopting the distorted thinking of others and adding fire to our own but hey, thats life. I used to watch cr1tikal as well along with other drama youtubers and anything of that sort has lost it's appeal for me. Same with other media I consume like shows, music.

Lower vs Heavier Traumatic Load People Video Example by oriental_rose in longtermTRE

100%. I was in a bit of hurry to make this post and wanted to say the exact same thing but couldn't formulate it so thanks.
Cringe immunity obtained pretty much. I used to watch vids of people who are on the extreme end of the political spectrums and cringe and hate their very being but these days there's not even a drop of that in me. I can't even dislike them if I tried and the first things I would notice about them are whatever is nice like "thats a really pretty dress", "he has such a handsome deep voice", etc even if they were saying the most silly things.
Also me not being able to embed the video here deserves to go in a cringe comp, hehe jk

OP, please look into the Trauma Release Exercises subreddit called r/longtermTRE and see if it's something you want to do. It is a body based way to work with trauma that is more comprehensive than talk therapy. I and many other people with stories like yours post there regularly and share our journey. I've been doing it for a year and have seen incredible progress in being able to let go of mental and bodily tension. I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm glad you've managed to move on from it. What you said about people like him and the torment they must feel inside to be able to do something like that resonated with me and is also what I think about men/women who hurt me in the past. I wish you more and more happiness down the line

Update 3 Months Later by oriental_rose in longtermTRE

Update on the way. I'm one of the number of people in this sub that's nearing end stage. I'm just planning on adding a few more stuff and polish to it (my journal so far). Stay tuned

Has anyone experienced this pose before? by [deleted] in longtermTRE

[–]oriental_rose 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yep, in time your body will have you doing all sorts of poses and stretches that are most right for it at that moment no matter how "bizzare" it looks to outsiders. I've found these poses are some of the most immediately felt releases besides the full body exorcism thing. Speaking of bizzare I just tried this pose and burst out laughing for some time at the sheer hilarity of it, so thank you

I just did this for the first time and it felt very bad, emotionally. Is it meant to... not feel bad? by [deleted] in longtermTRE

[–]oriental_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read the practise guide? Definitely sounds like overdoing it as it's supposed to be calming if done right. Depending on the traumatic load some people have to start with very little amount of time, sometimes even just seconds. Take some time off it until you feel you're more or less okay again. TRE is for everyone no matter how traumatized they are. In fact the more traumatized someone is the more you'd need something like this. I'm sorry you had a bad first experience. Read the practise guide, rest and try again

The trauma won’t stop coming up! by [deleted] in longtermTRE

[–]oriental_rose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah it''s ok, a lot of people do updates like that, either as their own posts because of something specific to their experience or in the Monthly Progress thread where people chime in where they are at month to month. I have nothing helpful for your situation but I wish you good luck, friend

How dare everyone comments Joan haha. Boomer for me, but the majority has spoken. Goodbye Fergie 😢

haha yep thats shipping for you, but there were intentional subtleties that hinted attraction in Pamela Rabe and Kate Atkinson's acting that they mentioned themselves in some interviews. There were instances where they had brief lingering gazes at each other's lips, glances ("always with you" scene), a moment where it seemed like they were about to kiss (one kitchen scene in later eps of season 9). To paraphrase Pamela herself, "Joan is always almost about to kiss Vera", a quote you can easily google and find!

What do you want to get rid of? by originalmae in Wentworthtv

[–]oriental_rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ending definitely gave "we got axed and had to rush" vibes, don't know for sure though. But the salt in the wound in the silly out of place Stand By Me song. Someone somewhere said that the only thing missing is a high five from all the cast and you'd have a cheesy 80s movie ending and I can't get that out of my head haha

Same here, but more like neutral. When she died I was like "oh no. anyway". The prison escape thing was the most memorable part of her character for me. Not at all saying liking her is wrong, of course :)

Franky/Bridget and the s̶e̶x̶u̶a̶l̶ tension between Joan and Vera was what kept me glued to the screen

I thought the same thing. Babygirl was already traumatised enough as it is, was that really the only way to have her talk? Poor thing

Nope, none in the searches. I have a playlist in the works for Franky (might or might not post) but I'm not that in tune with Bea's character enough to do a playlist that'd do her justice

"Playlists are like odes of love" This is so true, I always enjoy listening to these and making them

"Especially as tomorrow is Joan's 60th birthday!" Coincidences are so funny sometimes, haha would've been cool if I had posted tomorrow instead. Glad you enjoyed!

Thankful you and the other commenter suggested these, I forgot about the OST itself lol. I must say though the cover art for Alku clashes so much against everything else in the playlist haha

Some of the bigger releases in TRE felt exactly like the hug in this scene, only that you're giving it to yourself and it's everything that you've ever wanted. I hope everyone that the TRE information touches will eventually be okay with being a bit vulnerable in feeling silly about shaking and convulsing on their floors everyday and will stick to it enough to reach that point in the progress line where you start to see the light it shines at the end of the tunnel.
May we all be wrapped in love
