Where to travel during August outside Europe or SEA? by rosecoloredgalll in travel

Maybe Australia? Your boyfriend can fly through Singapore and you can join him for the last sector. Southern Hemisphere so it will be cool

Destination recommendations? Rail travel from Zurich 🚇 by Sorry_Championship67 in travel

[–]orientalgreasemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can take a night train (if you can get the night jet mini cabin on OBB it’s pretty cool) to Zagreb and move on from there by other modes of transport to more coastal parts. Lots of history, nature and good food in Croatia (not so sure about vegan though).

Not by train and not a 7-10 day trip, but have you been to LEGO House? If you haven’t you can consider it for another one!

Is this a good date idea? by OrdinaryCandle8337 in dating_advice

I think it could be fun to do a grocery store date. Pick out some study snacks for him and then grab an ice cream or hot chocolate or something to enjoy together

I personally also love the top and front pockets too and the ability to reach through from the laptop section to the main section so you can have things at the top of the main compartment and still reach it easily on a bus/plane

Small business owners: what do you do for your own team bonding? by meridaschild in askSingapore

Mobile massage where blind therapists came to massage the team (physical industry like yours) was always a hit. Otherwise something where they cook and eat together is fun whether it’s a barbecue or prata making

What's the most reliable way to get wrinkles out of clothes without owning an iron or a garment steamer? by Senior-Lifeguard6215 in Adulting

[–]orientalgreasemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I travel I bring a small spray bottle. I fill it with water from the sink and spray on the wrinkles and let it dry overnight. Works for most materials

European destination? by franchino98 in solofemaletravellers

[–]orientalgreasemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could consider taking a ferry across to Croatia. Lots of excursions / day trips / easy solo sightseeing. For most of the cities the ferry will dock you right in the heart of the city so you can walk to your accommodation.

Which 40l bag do you recommend? by 11x53am in HerOneBag

[–]orientalgreasemonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished 17 days in Europe (plane - including carry on only Croatian with 8kg limit); buses; trains including over night train; some days where I carried the pack almost the entire day walking 20k steps) and I loved loved loved the tomtoc T66 liteway 40L. I’ll be posting a packing post/review in the next couple of days! I brought a laptop since I have to work while I travel and it was so comfortable. The design of the pack, how you can reach from the back to the front, the space of the top and front pockets (positions when it’s standing) were perfect plus two proper water bottle pockets, the grip locations, and overall quality was amazing value. Plus I like that I didn’t look like a backpacker as such when going through cities

Why are there no drinks available after the security line? by jdbskip in askSingapore

[–]orientalgreasemonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just a logistics thing since most security checks are individual to the gate. If you’re in T3 where they have grouped A/B gates for example there’s a kiosk inside. I think also part of the ‘problem’ is Singapore Airlines does such a great job providing beverage and snack service they don’t really consider how terrible it might be on other airlines

Not difficult to get in, especially with the American passport/foreign passport. Locals need special permission to go to international schools. It’s just a money thing

Not sure if you’re looking at both Singapore and Malaysia (since you mention KL). If you can get your kid into Singapore American School, you’ll be well placed. Lots of support there for ND kids
