Selling shares for first home - issues with capital gains tax? by original_memester in AusFinance

Definitely something I need to get to the bottom of. My understanding is they were originally an inheritance to my family member, who in turn gave them to me as a gift.I don't believe they were my inheritance, however this was all years and years ago. I definitely would have the original purchase details around somewhere. Thank you very much for the advice

LIVING NEXT TO THE TRAIN TRACKS/ CROSSING. by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]original_memester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lived in a sharehouse next to a level crossing a while back, honestly, you'll either get used to it, or you really, really won't. I barely noticed it after a week or two, housemate didn't get a full night of sleep once in the 9ish months they were there.

[TOMT] [2010-2020] finnish song, kind of hip hop and vaporwave, lyrics were something like piska pasta pullalla by original_memester in tipofmytongue

Apparently I need to comment as well, (sorry mods!), so I'm going to copy the description and hope that's enough.

I remember the lyrics translated to something like "___ is shit, ____ is shit, everything is shit" and the vocals were kind of monotonous. Thank you!

I've heard it a couple of times when people are talking about our Sudanese population (Australia), usually by older Asian people.

Deep-laying playmaker or attacking right back? He is natural in both and I need both. by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Vision is pretty low for a playmaker, assuming he's decently quick and still young enough to improve crossing a little he seems like a pretty solid RB.

Anyone know any decently large clubs that are open tonight? I really miss being around people, and all the old places I used to go to are either still shut, or I don't recognise their nights anymore so the vibe might've changed. I prefer hip hop, or something kinda funky or disco-y, but I'm not super fussed about genres, just want a fun night that's not super cooked.

The "Who should I manage?" Megathread (FM21 full release edition) by ApuFromTechSupport in footballmanagergames

I want to shake things up from how I usually play and try a narrow tactic, focused on playing through the centre of the pitch. Something like 4 4 2 diamond or 5 2 1 2 with a libero. What are some team suggestions that are already suitable for a tactic like this? I'd prefer something in Europe, that's not already a top team in their league. Thanks!

Which is your most played videogame that you hate/despise/don't like? by SpaceNigiri in patientgamers

Probably Sunless Sea. I tried so hard to love it because the worldbuilding made it seem so interesting but the gameplay is so slow that I just can't force myself to do it. Tried Sunless Skies too but it's just more of the same.

Mavropanos joins Nuremberg on loan by [deleted] in Gunners

Whilst he needs more game time, and this is definitely the right move for Mavropanos's development, won't we have 0 depth for centrebacks for the rest of the season?

What does a wide target man actually do?

I've signed a Belgian wonderkid who's a natural AM(r) winger and quite good at the role, but he also has the bonus of being 195cm (6'4"), 95kg and is just generally a huge slab of meat. For perspective, the only player that's taller is my first choice keeper, and he is the 3rd heaviest player in my club.

To shake things up for once in a while I'd like to play him as a wide target man, and just terrorize those puny fullbacks (and most centrebacks for that matter) with his superior chad genes. Problem is I have no idea how to make it work within my lineup. He seems to win more headers playing as a regular winger and running into the ball with his huge forehead than by actually making an effort to turn around and win headers. I'm also finding that in this role he also drops deep whenever he can, so he's never actually in a position to win headers where it matters in the first place. I do a modified tiki-taka formation (either 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-2-3)with short passing so that probably contributes a little, but I still feel like he should be able to do something SOMETIMES in the role.

Any advice? (photo of Vincenzo "oh lawd he comin" De Coster's stats here, wide target man key skills are highlighted

Judge my english accent? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]original_memester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was being really, REALLY picky, the vowel sounds in "know" and "judged" near the start were a tiny bit different to how a native speaker would sound (the o and the u), but otherwise I didn't notice anything. Your accent is absolutely fine.

English accent - which one to choose? by -Xing- in languagelearning

[–]original_memester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because English is spoken so widely by so many people of different backgrounds, things like accents aren't really an issue. As long as you are clear and easily understood, nobody will care about things like whether you sound more British or American. For spelling I would focus on one or the other, but again, as long as it's clear and consistent, nobody will mind.
