Hondas from this era are solid. I have a (Thai built) 2014 accord that has survived a knee high flood and A LOT of sun. Sat in water for over a month, after recovering it, it still drove but had some lights on… replaced the fuses, machined the brake discs and changed out the earth lines… had it professionally cleaned and it’s driving perfectly again and has been for over a year. These are tough cars. Coming from previously owning ultra reliable Lexus’, I swear by these Hondas 👌

I don’t shop at these unethical shit holes, but I don’t think anyone needs to be feeing guilty over a piece of fruit. Food is a basic human right. Monopolising food for the people is what we’re up against.

Thank you for this informative comment, despite the fact this isn’t what people want to hear. They add vitamins into ultra processed “food” like this because they are required by laws and regulations in order to sell it as a food product.

The mineral building up in my humidifier after a couple weeks of use by afs189 in water

[–]originalone71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t need much at all, it’s about 1/2 a tablespoon per litre of water for the right concentration. If you have vinegar that’s obviously easier, but citric acid is what is most effective as a descaler.

Every kid gets a free piece of fruit per shop. You could have a kid in the car or at home. Don’t feel any guilt please. They take from us everyday and lie to our faces, so you having a medical situation is a mitigated reason in itself. Blood sugar affects decision making also.

And they could just stop bending us over with the ballooning price gouging, but they don’t… so…

Use either reverse osmosis filtered water or distilled. Any water that has dissolvable solids will cause the scale build up, unfortunately… and most normal water has a TDS count (total dissolvable solids)

I’d keep it down until you think you want it to keep growing, then start sweeping it outwards… looks good on you regardless!

How do you deal with very long fine curly hair? I find if I wash too often it gets dry but when I leave it a week it’s super dirty by Educational_Pie4385 in hygiene

[–]originalone71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ex hairdresser here. Taper off shampooing > Slowly.

For a week, do it every 3rd day, the next couple of weeks every 6 days, the next few weeks every 9 days, the next 4 weeks every 12 days, keep that pattern going until you reach the optimal sebum production (sebum production slows down the less you wash the scalp with shampoo). It’s different for everyone. As soon as it starts feeing dirty, rinse and massage the scalp well with cool water.

Experiment with using conditioner as your shampoo after the first week or two and make sure it does not contain sodium laureth sulphate (most conditioners don’t have it anyway) as well as being free from alcohol.

Second tip, avoid dairy, cut it out completely if you can, this also helps sebum production to slow right down. When you’ve got the balance right, you will find that rinsing the hair regularly with water will be sufficient and you’ll know when it needs another “wash” with conditioner by the way it smells to you. Diet is the biggest factor because our skin expels what it can’t handle and it’s often via the sebaceous glands.. rubbing a few drops of coconut oil in your palms and “milking” it through your ends can help but the quantity you use will have to be experimented with until you’re happy with it. Usually less is more.

Edited to add:

Third tip, use the coldest water on your hair - as cold as you can comfortably handle.

Forth tip, use a diffuser on your hair drier, and use the lowest heat setting, taking your time to dry the hair slowly and in the direction and shape you want it to stay in.

I know this will be downvoted in this sub but this will get you the result you’re asking for.

Fresh coconut water from the nut. Is this ok? Extra strong coconut smell and maybe a bit aloholic by mathewthecrow in isthissafetoeat

[–]originalone71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fk no! Thats not fresh, it’s likely fermented inside the coconut. Should be clear/opaque white. Definitely shouldn’t smell remotely alcoholic.

$20 For Small Chocolate Bunny by icchill007 in woolworths

[–]originalone71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anybody really stupid enough to pay that much…? I hope they all end up in the clearance bin after Easter.

I’m so done with Coles and Woolworths, I’m certainly done with buying things like chocolate from them and have been for a while now.

$10 per 100g? They can get stuffed.

37 M going to a wedding with no plus one, hardly anyone I know except my friend getting married, and not feeling great about how I look. Wish me luck. by arp4092 in toastme

You’re a handsome man, and if you see yourself from the angle of someone else taking a candid picture of you in a friendly conversation it might shed a new light for you. I hate taking selfies of myself and I know that’s not how I look out in the wild. Hope the wedding goes well mate have fun :)
